It does bother me. Politicians should not be manipulating the media the way Obama has been doing for 8 years.

Unfortunately the current state of our media bothers me more so I don’t blame him and think it’s the right thing to do.

If anyone thinks this is something new in our politics they should read about the media in the 1790’s. Adams funded one of the major papers and Jefferson the other. President Adams told US mail carriers to deliver his paper. Then Jefferson paid them to dump Adam’s paper in the river and deliver his.

Then there was the time Hillary's people roped in reporters.

Or the time Joe Biden kept a reporter in a closet for hours.

Or the number of times obama pulled the same trick.

The first amendment isn't implicated at all. Trump wields no government power. He is a private citizen. He has no power to prevent the WaPo or anybody else from publishing whatver it desidres, other than whatever power a public figure has via the civil law of defamation.

Some WaPo flack was on FoxNews last night claiming that Trump was banning the WaPo from reporting on Trump - another risible claim. Part of the most dishonest people in the country.

Dems treat the press like poodles. I recall they locked a reporter in a closet a while back.

My Amazon echo news today:

Omitted the religion and the names of both the Orlando shooter and the Paris stabber, rather than hint either was Muslim.

They said “conflicting portraits” of the Orkando shooter were emerging, called him “racist and homophobic” and, while mentioning his employer had ignored warning signs, did not mention the employer did so because he was Muslim.

Meanwhile, they were still harping on Trump and the judge.

I’d sayTeump nailed this one.

Heck no, it’s doesn’t bother me in the least, given the Post’s penchant for lying to its readers.

The Post actually has readers?

“Donald Trump just barred Washington Post reporters from campaign events. That should bother you.”

Nope, WaPo. Your giving Joseph Goebbels and the Soviet-era Pravda a run for their money as pure propagandists should bother YOU. You gave up any pretense of actually reporting about Trump ages ago. Your continual attempts at manipulating and lying to potentially millions of people is disgusting, and finally someone has the guts to call you out and stop rewarding your immoral and unethical behavior. Bravo Donald.

Exactly. We are so much smarter than you, so we need to explain to you why you aren’t thinking it all the way through.

There is nothing so insufferable as a liberal who thinks they know more than you because of how important they think they are, which the media is chock full of.

Chris Cillizza is the only WaPo reporter who has been giving The Donald a fair shake. That should bother Chris. Hope he gets another job.

So if Trump wins the election will the Washington Post ban extend to the White House I wonder?

Be delighted if it did. The tail should follow the dog, not the other way around. Journo-hos need to be disabused of the idea that they are behind the wheel of national policy.

WaPo people are married to the people who will lose their jobs in a Trump admin - of course they don't want him. Whether their spouses (or children, friends, neighbors) are political appointees or civil service, if Trump follows through they are at high risk of being unemployed. That's why EVERYONE inside the Beltway (or at least 99%) are Democrats.

No it shouldn’t. Contrary to the pompous self aggrandizing propaganda from the “Journalists”, they are not some sacred part of our Government. They behave like Hillary propaganda bots so Trump treated them as such

The first amendment isn't implicated at all. Trump wields no government power.

That's only one side of the coin, the side that protects against government thuggery towards those who publish against government interests.

The other side of the coin is that one does not need government permission to become "press." This is the power that Trump (and Bezos) does wield. As you point out, Trump is not obligated to provide access to the press. If Trump wanted to go to extremes, he could follow Bezos and Adelson and buy his own newspaper.

Refreshing. It started out as Huffington Post banishing Trump to the Fashion section and ends with Trump booting bad actors with them asking to be let back in.

The responses are predictable, anticipated, and validates Trump’s claim to be the candidate of change and outsider status.

When you have to tell someone to care/be bothered, you’ve already lost the battle.
