EXCLUSIVE: Longtime GOP Backer Says Ryan Hopes Trump Loss Clears Deck For 2020
Dailly Caller ^ | June 9, 2016 | Alex Pfeiffer

Posted on 06/10/2016 9:23:49 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

A longtime Republican financial backer who attended a New York fundraiser held by Chris Christie for Donald Trump Thursday tells The Daily Caller that most Republican donors are on board with Trump, yet House Speaker Paul Ryan is hoping Trump loses so he can run in four years.

The source tells TheDC that the reason Ryan has not been coming out strongly for Trump is because of his desire to run in four years. Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who has been fervently anti-Trump, also wants to run in four years, according to the longtime Republican backer. Romney will be 73 in 2020.

An aide for Ryan told TheDC, “Speaker Ryan said in an op-ed in the Janesville Gazette last week that he is voting for Donald Trump and of course he wants the Republican nominee to win in November.”

At the New York City fundraiser, Christie didn’t address Trump’s comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel directly. Christie did however say that GOP leaders either back Trump, don’t comment on him at all or say they support Hillary Clinton. The New Jersey governor specifically referenced South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, an individual with knowledge of the event held at the Four Seasons told TheDC.

Any name who dumped on Trump an kiss their chances hereafter, good bye. Any one of them can’t win without the base and the base is ticked.. very ticked.. at them. No chance for them in 2020. If they have their way, there’d be no country by 2020.

Did the thought ever cross their minds that if they backed Trump enthusiastically, they might get those same votes next time there was a vacancy in that office? Really dumb and really not thinking this through. It’d do them good to get out among the people and ask questions! It’d do them and us more good if they resigned... went home for good!

You may disagree with Ryan right now, but you have to realize that he still is fairly conservative.

Sorry, the record just does not reflect that.

Ryan is all in for amnesty.

Ryan is all in for globalist anti-American trade agenda.

Ryan chose to cut vet pay in a deal he cut with the Dems while welfare queens received their full amount.

We were assaulted by the IRS. Ryan did nothing. We were physically assaulted at rallies. Ryan did nothing.

Paul Ryan is a self interested beltway careerist. Nothhing more, nothing less. Conservatism and defense of Main Street USA is the last of his concerns.

If Trump loses there will be no 2020 for the Republic. Perhaps there will be a 2020 for the Oligarchy but there will be no Republic and no middle class and no Constitution. The experiment in freedom will be at an end. Ryan will have a comfortable place in the New State, at least until the advent of the Show Trials.

the easiest way to lose my vote in four years is to not be supportive of the republican candidate. if Paul Ryan plays this game he will be as popular as Jeb Bush four or eight years from now.

If Trump loses there won’t be a GOP in 2020.

They'll be the "other" socialist party appealing to the, then, majority of "marginalized" voters.

Because as soon as whites are no longer the majority, the term minority will go away. It will become "marginalized" or "historically oppressed" or some other BS.

No Republican with beltway stink on them can be elected POTUS, IMO. I don’t see that changing for a long time. Ted Cruz made a big mistake not just waiting out Perry and running for gov of Texas.

A few months ago I would have been thrilled to vote for Paul Ryan after Trump served his eight years...

Today Ryan would be one of the list of ‘last people in the world I would EVER vote for... for anything.

The best part of the article that nobody has commented on yet is that Willard wants back in in 2020.

I hear bonnerboy is now living the good life on Marco Island, wine in hand, safe stuffed with cash

They arrive in Congress broke, and leave on their private jets.

Well then, that’s all you need to run for President - right?

Romney and Ryan = two large heaps of human excrement.
These two turds are both to arrogant, or stupid to know that they are dead on arrival as far as the conservative base is concerned.
They are both to ignorant or delusional to understand that they would never get enough of the Indies or democrats to get them elected.
