Chicago Walmart closed by protestors
Fox Business Channel | 6/8/16

Now on TV. "Fair Wage Warriors" have stormed a Cook County Walmart, blocking all checkout lines while demanding a "fair wage." No police present; Cook County Board members backing the protestors.

'If there wasn't a pool of potential workers who rely on their government benefits, and a steady supply of immigrants willing to work for low wages and receive government benefits, then the market would adjust to pay higher wages since they would be necessary in order for employers to hire the workers they need. '

Sure, and that also leaves out simple innovation. Innovation will be destroying more jobs in the future as well. These are some serious complications that politicians aren't really bringing up.

“No police present; Cook County Board members backing the protestors.”

Should say: Cook County Board members are responsible for the lack of police presence.

Guess Walmart will be rethinking this plan..........

Southland residents who may not have been able to easily access fresh food are getting a new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Richton Park that opens Wednesday.

Wal-Mart, 22401 Central Ave., on the southwest corner of Interstate 57 and Sauk Trail, is positioned in an underserved area for fresh food.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the store is located in the vicinity of several "food deserts" along the southern Cook County border and into northern Will County, which are defined as "low-income census tracts where a significant number or share of residents is more than one mile ... from the nearest supermarket."

We’d pay a fair wage, but the government makes us pay more.

This could all have been avoided if Walmart had simply made a small donation to certain Cook County board member's "campaign" funds.

Don't you people understand how the World works? Walmart could serve deep fried babies in the Deli, spicy and original, if they pay the proper bribes.

IT'S CHICAGO!!!

When the Government dictates how a private enterprise operates, you no longer have Capitalism. You have Communism.

I purposely wait in longer lines to get away from the protected class. Does that make me a racist? So be it. It makes my day more pleasant and the line usually moves quicker anyway.

You will also be the first target of looting and arson when the snowflakes throw a tantrum over some perceived injustice.

I remember my Father telling me that you can complain about a Job if someone put a Gun to your Head to make you take it.

Otherwise you either STHU or Quit and find another Job more to your liking.

Walmart don’t screw around.

Won’t be surprised if they fire everyone in the store and shutter it.

I said exactly that to a union goon picketing a Von’s supermarket in California, a store where he didn’t even work.
What he said I don’t recall, but the look I got would blister paint.

When did “activist” became a legitimate occupation?

When this country elected a community organizer as president ... twice.

Yep, no wage is better than the wage they think is “fair” to these protesters. I wonder if someone is paying them to protest? And if so, how much are they being paid?

Nowadays People think that someone else OWES them a Living, especially our young people.

That attitude has crippled our Politics and it will only get worse, not better.

Self Responsibility has been outsourced to the likes of Bernie, Hillary and Politicians of BOTH major Political Parties.

Innovation will be destroying more jobs in the future as well. These are some serious complications that politicians aren't really bringing up.

Historically the jobs lost to innovation are replaced with better jobs as overall productivity and societal progress occurs. That said, the transition for any one person can be difficult, and poor strategies by politicians and other leaders in society can make the situation worse.

One example are the high costs in taxes and regulations government imposes on employers, which politicians continue to increase. Making it more expensive, risky and difficult to hire employees leads everyone to try to avoid that risk. Innovation aimed at reducing employee headcount only occurs if the cost savings justify it. As government drives up the effective cost of employing someone, entrepreneurs will concentrate more effort on innovations which allow them and others to operate with fewer employees.

One reason companies relocate overseas is to avoid the risks and costs of hiring employees in the USA. Making it simple and inexpensive, and relatively less risky to hire employees would help generate jobs here in the USA.
