Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday imposed a siege on the ISIS-held city of Manbij from three directions, after recapturing dozens of villages and farms in the vicinity of the city north of Syria’s Aleppo province.

...Local sources confirmed that a large number of ISIS militants escaped the city using the western exit, and headed to Aleppo.

The US-backed SDF has steamrolled ISIS in Northern Syria - rapidly cutting their main supply routes to Turkey. The US has supported with over 100 airstrikes.

At this rate, they could completely cut off the city tomorrow, or the next day.

It is probably packed with booby traps/IEDs. The SDF may pause to clear the city house to house, or just surrounded it, and move on, to finish cutting ISIS off from Turkey.

Al Bab, less than thirty miles further West down the highway (over open terrain), is the end of the "Manbij Gap". When that door is closed, the ISIS capital of Raqqa is doomed.

The noose is tightening - the only reason why is because Obama doesn’t want to look like a fool.

“isis is going to be really pissed at their benefactor, hussein, turnin’ on ‘em.”

Maybe he is trying to get them out of an untenable long term situation, and burrowed deep into Western societies (with welfare benefits and free lawyers), before a future administration just has them all killed.

Sure a bunch will die in the process, but the leftist elites are far above such details.

Or maybe they are just inconvenient right now, with an election coming up. But Happy Ramadan brothers!

“starve’em out , when they try to surrender, shoot’em.”

Sounds like the Iraqi/Iranian plan for Fallujah.

ISIS is also under major attack in Libya at the same time. The Syrian Army and the Russians are giving ISIS more attention nowadays as well.

The new CENTCOM Commanding General is really taking it to them. US airstrikes are up several-fold.

In Manbij, a lot of ISIS seems to have shaved their beards, and left town with the civilian refugees. A lot of others have been left behind to die though.

They seem to be killing dozens of jihadis per day in that operation. Theater-wide, they are probably losing a couple of hundred per day. This is a sea change, from only a few weeks ago.

They used to get about a thousand foreign recruits per month, raise more in the local area, and get a lot of locals to work for them for pay, or from fear. All those numbers are collapsing.

Abandon them to the Syrian Regime or the Turks at some point.

He will probably need them through the election though, so that leaves little time for a doublecross.

lovely classic pincers attack. Looks like they’ll have Hamir Labidah soon too. It’s like watching an amoeba at work.

Shaving their beards and and left town with civilians?
Hell I thought these guys were true believers?
Any male between the ages of 12 and 70 trying to slip the noose should be put up against the wall and shot.

So that means first Wednesday in November, either out of spite or just out of spite, depending on who wins.

The SDF are jihadis, they still want to murder Christians and Shias. They’re just not as horrible as the Islamic state. Let them kill the Islamic state super-orcs and then we should let Assad kill the orcs of the SDF

But honor their memory with a greater Kurdistan breaking up Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran. That ought to keep the orcs at it.

I support a greater Kurdistan, but I don't believe it's going to end quite the way you may think.

While Kurdistan is an anathema to Turks and Arabs, it's not so bad for Iranis -- another Irani nation and this time stretching to the Mediterranean.

The Kurds are sickened with Islam and I have hopes that they would inspire Iranis to also see that Arabs always consider Iranis as "not true Moslems as they are Persians, Sassanids" -- this should, logically, push the Iranis to choose a religion that reflects more their long and illustrious history - Zoroastrianism.

To me it looks like what the "Kwanzaa" idea but with much, MUCH more historical basis -- Zoroastrianism is indigenous Irani and Islam is just a Bedouin religion elevating Bedos to the level of chosen people that all should endeavor to become.
