Paul Ryan Calls Donald Trump’s Attack on Judge ‘Racist,’ but Backs Him Still
New York Times ^ | JUNE 7, 2016 | DAVID M. HERSZENHORN

Posted on 06/07/2016 8:29:15 AM PDT by reaganaut1

WASHINGTON — Speaker Paul D. Ryan on Tuesday called Donald J. Trump’s criticism of a Hispanic-American judge “the textbook definition of a racist comment” and said he “regrets” the remark. But Mr. Ryan also reiterated his support for Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, against Hillary Clinton.

“I disavow these comments — I regret those comments that he made,” Mr. Ryan said after announcing a new Republican anti-poverty initiative in Anacostia, an overwhelmingly black neighborhood in Washington.

“Claiming a person can’t do their job because of their race is sort of like the textbook definition of a racist comment,” Mr. Ryan continued. “I think that should be absolutely disavowed. It’s absolutely unacceptable. But do I believe that Hillary Clinton is the answer? No, I do not.”

He added, “I believe that we have more common ground on the policy issues of the day and we have more likelihood of getting our policies enacted with him than with her.”

Mr. Trump made the comments about Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of Federal District Court, who is overseeing a suit against the now-shuttered Trump University.

Pressed on Mr. Trump’s doubling down on his position that he is skeptical of the objectivity of nonwhite judges, Mr. Ryan said, “If you say something that is wrong, the mature and responsible thing is to acknowledge that it’s wrong.”

It would appear Paul Ryan 'endorsed' Trump for one reason...to try and control him!

Trump should just smile, wave and go on to talk about the (unvetted aliens bringing diseases to USA) or Obama's plan to "give" Jerusalem to the Palestinians....there is so much Donald can be saying.....

Ryan is just a moron.

He’s not a moron. He’s a progressive beltway careerist who prefers Hillary to Trump. This is all carfully calibrated triangulation of Trump going on here. GOP plan is to weaken him enough so that he loses but don’t leave any GOP finger prints on his loss.

Haven’t you noticed that no weapon formed against Donald Trump has prospered? Why would that be?

Isaiah 54
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

Nelson, Thomas (2009-02-18). Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV) (p. 717). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition.

Every time Donald Trump says, “I love you!” to a crowd, I am reminded when Jesus said:
John 13
34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Nelson, Thomas (2009-02-18). Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV) (p. 1047). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition.

Ryan is like Pavlov’s dog. Anytime he here’s the word “mexican”, he turns into a schumer-esque, microphone seeking bloodhound.

Racism has been redefined.

Dictionary: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.

Or, the above used to be defined as racism. Now, any criticism of a person of a different race (unless that race is white) is racism.

Letting liberals get away with this new definition hands them a win in every arena. Only whites can be racist and all whites are racist. No criticism of any person who is non-white is allowed and non-whites cannot be racist by the new definition.

Heads they win, tails you lose (if you are white).

Here's another little game the DEM-loving Republicans are playing (media mouths, too), they deny the obvious and hide behind the strict few words Trump said.

In other words, they can't win the La Raza argument, so they say well, that's not what Trump said. I've seen this done by a whole host of RINOs.

Suddenly, they act as if we are bound to a candidate's literal wording, and common sense afforded everyone else is denied.

This is the textbook definition of an activist judge who thinks some laws are optional.

Yep, Ryan still needs to be primaried. Thought so all along; this just proves it.

Ryan and the rest are fools. How many of Crooked Hillary’s supporters are attacking her in public?

PAUL RYAN DEMANDED TRUMP DENOUNCE THE KKK, A GROUP HE HAS NO CONNECTION TO, BUT THE LA RAZA JUDGE, IS FREE TO DO AS HE PLEASES?

His Judgment and independence must not be questioned?

I think Paul Ryan wants Hillary as President, that's what I think.

Brookhaven: "Trump is simply pointing out that there are two sides to the identity politics game."

Exactly, the left uses "racist" as their sword and shield.
They stab & hack with it, they slash & burn under its banner.
It's one of their strongest weapons, it's like showing a cross to Dracula -- Republicans wither & flee, usually screaming.

So now Trump speaks the obvious: the judge's decision is politically motivated, based on his membership in a race-based leftist group, La Rasa.
Will that ruin Trump?

Time will tell.

@

In a totally unrelated event, I’m sure, the Senate GOP is dropping efforts to defund Obamacare, as of today.

Did Paul Ryan hold a Presser about the Govt (State) deleting records and video regarding the Iran deal?

Ryan is a closet Dem, I guarantee it. I’ve seen enough.

I am with Trump on this one. Obummer has fundamentally changed this country from a rule of law to a rule by fiat. An ObOzO appointee, Gonzalo Curiel, probably, got a call from one of the regime dudes, to not let Trump win.

The 1st day of testimony will be the 1st day of the RNC convention.

Curiel replaced the original judge.

The original plaintiff dropped...

Contributions to Dems up the wazoo by Curiel’s designated law firm for the plaintiff.

Press release from Hispanic Lawyers in 2015 targeting Trump’s interests (2015).

Politics? Nah. /s
