Could a Muslim Judge Be Trump Neutral? Trump Thinks Not
New York Times ^ | June 5, 2016 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Posted on 06/05/2016 12:50:20 PM PDT by reaganaut1

Donald J. Trump said Sunday that a Muslim judge might have trouble remaining neutral in a lawsuit against him, extending his race-based criticism of the jurist overseeing the case to include religion and opening another path for Democrats who have criticized him sharply for his remarks.

The comments, in an interview with John Dickerson, the host of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” come amid growing disapproval from fellow Republicans over his attacks on Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel, a federal judge in California overseeing a suit against the defunct Trump University, whose impartiality Mr. Trump questioned based on the judge’s Mexican heritage.

And they came as Republicans, concerned about how his remarks could harm their ability to retain control of the United States Senate and have a detrimental effect in races further down the ballot, continue to grapple with how to distance themselves from Mr. Trump’s rhetoric without alienating his die-hard voters.

Mr. Trump has called Judge Curiel, who was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants, a “Mexican” and said he has a “conflict of interest” in the case because of Mr. Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico. The case that Judge Curiel is overseeing is a class-action suit in which students of the for-profit operation say they were defrauded.

Mr. Dickerson asked Mr. Trump if, in his view, a Muslim judge would be similarly biased because of the Republican presumptive nominee’s call for a ban on Muslim immigrants. “It’s possible, yes,” Mr. Trump said. “Yeah. That would be possible. Absolutely.”

More real talk from the non politician politician. He states what is likely true, considering human nature, and suddenly the Senate is lost to Republicans for decades.

Donald is serving such a useful purpose in exposing the utter lack of principle among the political ruling class elites.

God forbid we should call a something by its name. We must first calculate the hypothetical impact of voting trends in various districts during off and on presidential election cycles, during even numbered years prior to record monsoon seasons in the Congo.

Donal speaks plainly. Politicians weasel their way through slimy spaces.

To be honest, while Trump does not emphasize ideology, the real problem is LEFTIST judges.

I sat in juvenile court and saw an Italian judge beg the fundamentalist muslim parents of a high school kid who threatened to kill a Jewish classmate - begged the parents NOT to leave the country and return to Pakistan with their kid, because George Bush was the problem and he would be out of office soon!

The parents were leaving the kid unsupervised while they traveled overseas on pilgrimages. The case had NOTHING to do with George Bush and this was after 9-11.

Alberto Gonzales came out supporting Trump on this. The problem is not race, the root problem is insane suicidal liberalism.

The headline is nearly the opposite of what he said.

He said it is possible that a Muslim judge might find it hard to be neutral. Not that a Muslim judge could not be neutral.

The media screams non-stop that Muslims and Hispanics hate Trump.

Trump suggests Muslims and Hispanics in positions of power may not be good to him.

Media screams bloody murder that Trump has echoed their message.

Got hypocrisy?

By definition, a Muslim is allowed to lie when dealing with a non-Muslim.

Who would tolerate a judge who couldn’t honestly take his oath to preserve and protect the Constitution because all Muslims are sworn to replace the Constitution with sharia “law”.

Islam/Muslims are antithetical to, and irreconcilable with, America’s Founding Documents.

Hence my tag line.

Did the NYT ever have common sense?

No such thing as a unbiased Muslim. They have little ability to reason or be fair due to the tenets and beliefs of Islam.

To import these people by the millions is national suicide. Like Pat Buchanan said: it's the Death of the West.

Did you see this morning how Hillary lied to Stephanapalous?

She accused Trump of saying something he did not say. She artfully twisted George’s question to do it. George let her get away with several whoppers, not to mention George didn’t question her history of lies.

Considering it is self-inflicted through insane immigration policies, that point is debatable.

Actually it is the Suicide of the West. Knowingly letting in millions of deranged 3rd world savages beholden to a religion, that cannot exist in peace with any other religion and calls for the murder of all non-Muslims is Suicide.

There is going to be hell to pay for the traitors of this nation that opened our doors to 3rd world immigration.

Trump has the right to be judged BY HIS PEERS, not by Illegals or Terrorists.

Judges that do not base rulings on existing law’s and precedent need to be removed/disbarred and striped of any retirement benefits after leaving jail.....fed/state any....judicial review boards are to be elected also...purge these federal and state blood suckers surrounded by law enforcement....I consider them servants like any other fed/state employee (I exclude hands on types...) old adage “what do you call 200 lawyers dead at the bottom of the ocean?” A Good start. For a judge to set precedent after 100’s of years of rulings is miscarriage to say the least. Judges should come from LEO”S just as the best Army officers are former enlisted.....Lawyers can go fk themselves ....been around many of them and I leave to avoid assaulting for general purposes....I own a decent boat.

Don’t be silly. Trump knows and hires the best lawyers in the land. Voir-dire will exclude any dubious jurors...which you should know.
