That would be funny...

Though simian observers will see that gorillas actually can be pretty decent — even more decent than people — most of the time. The things that they will get violent over are generally understood. I would have bet on Harambe being decent based on him actually saving the boy from the water (they called it “dragging him around” but it was with his head always above the water — just as though he were a gorilla cub), though again the sniper coverage would be required because we don’t know everything in the beast’s mind. But just summarily shooting him to get him out of the picture... that was overkill.

People panic, and that can be understood. And animals are property even though valuable property and ought to be treated kindly when possible. We can get more gorillas where Harambe came from.

we’ll have to agree to disagree on this. i never posted on the threads about it because it seemed some were pretty emotional over it. to me it was simple - the boy was in danger - remove danger. and it was a great shot..... danger removed.

I don’t “agree to disagree” on anything. I just disagree.

We live in a climate of such fear that things that used to mark humanity, such as caring for even inconvenient animals, has gotten shoved to the back burner if not taken quite off the stove.

Maybe Harambe deserved the compassion. He does so more than people, who are sinners. Animals may be violent, but they do not sin.

“to me it was simple - the boy was in danger - remove danger. “

Bingo. With animals, no matter domesticated or not, there is no level of predictability of action that will allow you to not act quickly and decisively in situations like that. Its not the animal’s fault, but they are on the receiving end of whatever action takes place.

The crime was not the killing of the gorilla. The crime was the lack of human-proof enclosures at this zoo, and the negligently criminal behavior of the child’s parents. The zoo should be harshly penalized, and the parents jailed.

In addition to public ugliness.

What few times I go out to lunch, I’ve listened to him some. He is good.

I would get an XM for my office. It’s mine but the walls are paper thin and there are a couple of political officers that wander around some.

love Andrew..... for the most part.

he was righteously riled up over the “monkey frenzy” ..... when he said he hoped the marksman at least should get to keep the head to mount over his fireplace i about lost it...... lol

don’t get me wrong - i would rather the monkey was alive and well and the incident never happened, but people’s perspective is really skewed if they think for one second an animal or object is even close to the same level as a child’s life or even injury. Andrew had a recording of some PETA protester outside the zoo who referred to said monkey as “what we have here is a dead human....” i kid you not. so to counter-act said bs i will gladly LMAO over the whole overblown dead monkey story - or peoples reaction to it anyway. no crime in my book, the ones at fault lost the most - an expensive exhibit.... their bread and butter, and bad publicity - and will pay for it, but i don’t think there was a crime committed.
