One of the definitions for “podium” over at www.dictionary.com is “lectern.”

I’ve never heard anyone call that thing a “lectern.” Everyone I know calls it a “podium.” We use them quite frequently, because someone or other at work is always calling meetings and the podium is where the mike is at. We all know how to stand behind the podium and talk, but not everyone manages to talk into the mike...

Then I read on and realized I misread the headline. Thank goodness for all of us!!
