Medicare is a federal program. Governor of any state has little or no control over who gets it.

In my conservative viewpoint, a Governor lowers the number of people on medicade/medicare and food stamps by bettering the economic conditions of the state. For a primer on how to do this look to Indiana.

She has not significantly lowered taxes nor improved the environment of the state for business.

She could have fought for Right To Work, but didn't. She could have fought to change our taxation system from a business unfriendly Gross Receipts Tax basis to a more business friendly Sales Tax basis, but didn't.

Seems she spent most of her energy on education issues, which while pressing, are mostly the result of socio-economic realities that no governor will be able to change. Plus, no matter how good she did on that issue she would never be credited with any gains. See President Bush's No Child Left Behind for an example of unappreciated and denigrated effort.

Lower taxes have not worked out good in Nebraska. Sure we all like lower taxes, especially me, because I was forking over $40K every year in federal taxes and induced me to take early retirement. Again, a lone governor with no industrial and manufacturing base such as in NM, is swimming against the tide if the national economy sucks. Did you notice only 35,000 jobs created last month nationwide?

Worst o the bunch are so called conservatives in congress who have done absolutely nothing significant for the conservative agenda. No wall, no defunding of Obamacare, no reduction of tax rates, no reduction in food stamps, no reduction in national debt, eviscerating military, Vets receiving horrible healthcare, etc etc.

Politicians who call themselves constitutional conservatives should be ashamed. And guess what? GOP has majority in congress!
