House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday said he's voting for presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump. In an op-ed for the Janesville Gazette of Janesville, Wisconsin, Ryan -- who sparked a political firestorm last month when he told CNN's Jake Tapper he was "just not ready" to back his party's nominee -- says he is now convinced Trump will advance the Republican agenda.
"I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people's lives. That's why I'll be voting for him this fall," Ryan wrote. He added, "It's no secret that he and I have our differences. I won't pretend otherwise. And when I feel the need to, I'll continue to speak my mind. But the reality is, on the issues that make up our agenda, we have more common ground than disagreement."
Since Ryan's announcement early last month that he wasn't yet ready to back Trump, the two have met and spoken by phone. A source close to Ryan told CNN the speaker made the decision earlier in the week, but declined to speak on the discussions between the two, saying the op-ed "speaks for itself."
"He didn't give Mr. Trump a heads up. This was always going to be the speaker's own decision on his own timeline," the source said. Republican congressional candidate and Trump.
"House Republicans will be inseparably tied to their toxic front-runner in November, case closed," said Meredith Kelly, a spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
News of his support for Trump broke just as the likely Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, began a foreign policy speech in San Diego in which she bashed Trump as a threat to national security.

I dont believe it and neither should anyone else, its all a sham....
Ms. Ruth Guerra leaves the DC-based RNC and heads to American Action Network.
Helen Aguirre Ferre, a notorious Trump-hater, moves to DC to work closely with House Speaker Paul Ryan, stroke his immigration principles, and aid Ryans BFF Reince Preibus.
[ ] Ms. Aguirre Ferre also explained why she thought House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) was withholding support from Trump.
He has a particular function. And that is that he needs to ensure and guarantee that Republicans maintain the majority in the House of Representatives, she said. And thats his principle task. For those who know Paul Ryan, they know he doesnt have much in common with Trump ideologically and in moral character, either. link
This statement right here explains it all: Romney, Bush, Clinton, Barky, Senators, House Reps....and the reason why Paul Ryan wont endorse Trump....they think their way: Bush, Cruz or Hillary...end of subject to them...
Well WE the American Voters have this election, along with the Latinos, Hispanics, and Legal Voters from other countries and there are more of us than there is of them, so let the show begin, because WE are NOT giving UP; WE are NOT giving IN; and We are going to WIN!!!
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
Exactly, more likely, they’ll try to tie Trump to the toxic Ryan, who is on record as favoring cutting Social Security and Medicare cuts.
3rd party=Vote for hitlery
Don’t kid yourself otherwise.
Paul played his little game for so long, now I don’t care if he endorses Trump or not. I’m just hoping Ryan gets ‘Cantored’. That way he can spend more time with his family.
whoop.
That is real funny!
3rd party's got nothing to do with it. There are still opportunities to primary reps who saw fit to vote for Ryan as Speaker. And, as regards the Speaker for the next Congress, it's good to remind all of them that the next primaries are only two years away.
Trump will accept this, but I don’t know how much he will ever trust Ryan...
Ryan’s internal polling must have suggested that without Trump his re-election is toast. Hopefully he’ll be toast anyway.
This is great news for Trump! Also for those of you hoping for a Nehlen victory are obviously not from Wisconsin. There is absolutely no way in hell Paul Ryan is going to lose, so stop kidding yourselves and wasting your time!
In the words of Ronald Reagan:(paraphrase) If they don't see the light make them feel the heat...(Ronaldus Magnus)
Toxic huh? Hell, a black widow spider is more likable than Hillary.
Ryan, w/a carrier deck size district, is simply another establishment flunky compulsively in need of attention.
Trump needs this Romney tag team doofus less than he needs money.
I don’t care. He needs to Cantorized.
Yawn. Alternate title “Paul Ryan tries to remain relevant.”
I’ll continue to speak my mind
During the election he will constantly be berating Trump on “things where we disagree”.
I dislike this guy more now than I ever did.
Too late, Paul RINO.
Way past time.
