It’s going to be just like Demolition Man....

That’s right. You see, according to *Cacteau’s* plan. *I’m* the enemy. Because I like to think, I like to read. I’m into freedom of speech, freedom of choice. I’m the kind if guy who would sit in the greasy spoon and think “Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the big rack of Barbecued spare ribs with the side order of gravy fries?” I *want* high cholesterol. I want to eat bacon, butter and buckets of cheese alright? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in a non-smoking section. I wanna run around naked with green jell-o all over my body reading a Playboy magazine. Why? Because maybe I feel the need to okay pal? I’ve *seen* the future, you know what it is. It’s made by a 47 year-old virgin in gray pajamas soaking in a bubble bath, drinking a broccoli milkshake and thinking “I’m an Oscar-Meyer Wiener”. You wanna live on top, you gotta live Cacteau’s way. What he wants, when he wants, how he wants. Your other option: come down here, maybe starve to death,

Salt on lettuce will wilt it. There’s lots of salt and sugar in dressings though.

Fructose IS sugar, sugar in its most damaging form. Cane sugar, called Sucrose is, in fact, a mixture of Fructose and Glucose.

I need salt in my food because I sweat. And I like my own cooking; no one’s spit is in it unless it’s my own.

Adding salt at the table does not always do the trick. Perfect example: pasta or rice. Cook it without salt and it can never recover.

In 60 years, I don't think my (Thai) wife has ever salted rice. However, most anything that is eaten with rice is very salty. I'm always telling her to ease up on the salt. I guess it's habit from eating only a little stuff on top of a huge portion of rice.

Fresh fruit is damaging? Sounds like something my kids would say as the reach for the Pringles.

Sure...the Government will tell you it has good intentions, that it wants all of us healthier. Yeah, it's a health issue alright.

What is, on average, the saltiest food most normal, red-blooded 'mercuns eat...pray tell? It's BACON!

That's right - this is the government's WAR ON BACON! And WE MUST FIGHT!

When I go for a long hike or bike ride, I get visible salt lines down my face. How does the government want me to replace this?

They originally started iodizing salt because people who lived too far from the coast to get iodine in fish needed it. The entire Midwest had goiter. Then came frozen food and there really was no need for it anymore, as long as people ate ocean fish.

Fresh fruit overdone contributes to the onset of type 2 Diabetes. Some fresh fruits do seem to have other components that somehow mitigate the fructose. Corn fructose is used in packaged food and soft drinks because it is the cheapest way to provide the sugar, but it is also the most harmful.

You'll want to focus on the neglected food groups. Such as the Whipped group, the congealed group and the chocotastic. And remember, if you’re not sure about something, rub it against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it’s your window to weight gain.”

Overwhelm the body with anything and bad stuff will happen.

Corn fructose is used in packaged food and soft drinks because it is the cheapest way to provide the sugar, but it is also the most harmful.

Fructose is fructose no matter the source. It is no more harmful than any other sugar when consumed in moderation. It is no more responsible for diabetes than any other sugar.

There are plenty of other things to season food with to enhance flavor but not raise blood pressure.

Unless you have a certain sensitivity then salt will not raise your blood pressure to dangerous level.

I am getting tired of being pressured to change my diet because of other people.

You can't eat gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, sugar, salt, milk, shellfish?

Sucks to be you, leave my food alone.

Fresh fruit is damaging?

Pointed stick? Oh, oh, oh. We want to learn how to defend ourselves against pointed sticks, do we? Getting all high and mighty, eh? Fresh fruit not good enough for you eh? Well I'll tell you something my lad. When you're walking home tonight and some homicidal maniac comes after you with a bunch of loganberries, don't come crying to me! Now, the passion fruit. When your assailant lunges at you with a passion fruit...

There are variations in the various types of sugar. Glucose is the least harmful. Fructose, depending on what it comes with is as benign as glucose or is more harmful than glucose. Alone it is more harmful. In fruits it is generally no worse than glucose.

Doesn't matter how extensively you study this stuff you can't tell the difference between fructose from an orange from the fructose found in HFCS. Fructose is fructose and your body handles it the same regardless of the source.

Fructose isn't the cause of diabetes, but consuming more calories than you burn from fructose, or any other carbohydrate (or fat or amino acids), over a long period of time, could be.
