Was Bill Kristol Planning Another Political Party All Along?
GotNews ^ | 5/30/16 | Charles C. Johnson

An investigation into the websites backing the so-called Renegade Party confirms that neoconservative columnist Bill Kristol has been plotting an anti-Trump political party since before a single vote was cast.

Kristol’s Renegade Party was set up on January 10th — nearly a month before the Iowa Caucus.

The move suggests that Kristol (or at least those close to him) had been planning an independent bid all along.

it wouldn’t be the “new” House which would decide the presidency, it would be the current House which serves until Jan. 2017

the Electoral College meets in early Dec.

The House would have until Inauguration Day, Jan. 20 2017 to settle on a President, or else the following procedure takes place:

How about the NeoCon party, with Bill Kristol, George Will, David French, Eric Erickson, Glen Beck, Leon Wolf, Josha Goldberg, Mitt and Ben

My gosh, Bill Kristol? Does this dude have any following at all? All I can see is that he has a big mouth.

I never cared for Kristol faux conservative. Always thought him as a weasley, wimpy lite mode talking head. Having Trump on the scene musta somehow crimped his cash flow or it will.

Cotton is too smart to entertain this in 2016.

The RINOs in Washington aren’t far enough to the left for Kristol.

But didn’t Cotton just yesterday say he wouldn’t rule out serving as Trump’s running mate? Is he trying to blackmail himself onto the Trump ticket, or what?

‘it wouldn’t be the “new” House which would decide the presidency, it would be the current House which serves until Jan. 2017’

I don't see the House jumping on bandwagon to elect Trump. The most likely scenario IMO would for the House to remain basically deadlocked until next term.

and

“If the House of Representatives fails to elect a President by Inauguration Day, the Vice-President Elect serves as acting President until the deadlock is resolved in the House.”

Just sayin...

William F. Buckley worked so damned hard to see his publication as a large part of K Street. For shame.

It is a free country and Kristol can plan anything he wants to plan. But with a following of several tens, what would it matter?

Actually I think this has been the GOPe’s plan once it became apparent Trump would be the nominee.Considering the date, I think it was more along the lines that Jeb wouldn't be the nominee, and this was the backup plan.

If Cotton is smart, and a patriot, he will get a new set of political friends. He was always careful when he spoke to Hugh Hewitt and you can’t tell if it’s because he’s not fully on board with the GOPe or if he’s just canny enough to keep that fact to himself. Either way his support from the Salem Radio faction is not encouraging.

It is a free country and Kristol can plan anything he wants to plan.

His Daddy sure tried. Irving's son needs a local radio gig somewhere. His smug (decreasing) appearances on cable news are likely being taken seriously.

Anything in print is likely endangered concomitant with albino Rhinos. [Make of that what you will...]

Cotton has apparently been out stumping with Juan. He has also not poked his head up much to cause Ditch to wack him back down.

An outsider wins the GOP nominations so butt hurt establishment insiders create another party named “Renegade” in order to run an establishment stooge.

What in the hell is wrong with this world?
