Bill Kristol Claiming He Has An Independent Candidate
Twitter ^ | May 29, 2016 | Pinkbell

Per Twitter

"Just a heads up over this holiday weekend: There will be an independent candidate--an impressive one, with a strong team and a real chance."

-Bill Kristol

Who is it, Mittens?

This absolutely disgusts me. This fool is going to cost us the election because he and some bitter Cruz supporters didn't get their way. He knows it will split the vote and we won't win. A few things:

1)He wants to cause enough of a vote split where no candidate has the 270. Ok. Let's say he does that. He will literally be usurping the will of all the people who voted for Trump in the primaries and general (which will be way more than his guy).

2)That assumes his candidate will even win one state. I would venture to guess his candidate won't win a single state but will divide the votes enough to help Hillary.

3)Maybe he wants Hillary. I had a Cruz supporter tell me on Twitter he'd rather 4 years of Hillary (he says it will only be 4 years) and 2 Supreme Court picks from her (he insists it will only be 2) so he can get a conservative like Cruz in 4 years.

Somewhere Hillary is cackling at the stupid party and "principled" conservatives who are willing to torpedo Trump to get all or nothing.

Let's hope either Bill is bluffing or this fails. Even Trump the other day seemed to concede it would give Hillary the election.

It takes a special kind of elitist attitude to usurp the voters of your own party and tell them you know better.

Bill is only a few steps away from the shtetl and he thinks he can be a kingmaker. Good luck Junior. You are pathetic.

Just getting someone probably won’t garner much attention.

If Kristol does have a candidate, it would have to be someone with spectacular credentials and/or name value. That would eliminate most well-known Republican who have plans for any future in the Republican party.

Sticking a name on ballots as a 3rd party is rather meaningless. There are already many parties that can’t even garder enough signatures to make the ballots. Kristol’s guy will need to be doing some fast work to even show up on ballots in many states.

Chance of winning an Electoral vote — 1. He might get one from his home state.

Who will step up to the plate and end Kristol’s foolishness?

There were a lot of people like that in ‘76.

They supported Reagan. When Ford got the nomination, they then supported Carter.

It worked.

If Ford had won in ‘76, Reagan would never have been president.

Even if Ronald Reagan were to come down from the sky, riding a golden chariot or winging down wearing angel wings, it’s too late for any other viable candidate than what we have.

If Romney, he could win Utah with its 6 electoral votes.

Doesn’t seem to Matter if Cruz had a hand in this or NOT.

He’s still ‘Guilty,’ because he hasn’t YET - moved to the Ticket Platform and Bought a Ticket for the Trump Express.

I still say Cruz will do for the Party, He Hates, a Favor, Sooner rather than Later and Endorse Trump.

Doesn’t 500+ Delegates mean anything at the Convention?

Realistically they might poll more this year, but not much.

Or get less support, since Trump, while not a libertarian does embody some of the goals of the supporters of 3rd party candidates in previous years - repudiating the Uniparty candidates who do promise a lot and do nothing.

And Bill Weld is no libertarian, but he may be Kristol's idea of "a strong independent team".

You nailed it, post #4. Trump has the Reagan coalition locked up. Any Independent or 3rd party candidate will get even less votes than Hillary.

More to the point:

Where is the money and infrastructure to support this unnamed candidate going to come from?

Without either, it’ll be a one day wonder.

I think its a trial balloon from Kristol and nothing further will come of it.

“This fool is going to cost us the election”

It is possible. It depends on who votes goes his way, Trump of Hillary. This pric# is beyond belief.

Kristol has squandered his family’s reputation and is now making a complete ass of himself. But a third party candidacy without tons of $$$$$? Not much of a chance. And donors know it, too - they won’t waste their money on something that stupid. Forget about kristol

“an impressive one, with a strong team and a real chance.”

Yeah, right. His “strong team” must be of the chi, chi, chia variety: just add water and watch those instant sea monkeys swim, uh, I mean watch that chia strong team grow!

I think Kristol is now just a plain ol’ attention whore.
