Libertarians on Sunday selected former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson as their party's presidential nominee, at their party convention in Orlando, Florida.
"At a minimum, I think we're in the presidential debates," Johnson said to cheers.
Sarwark said the party had established a "back channel" to the Koch brothers, in the hopes the wealthy libertarian-leaning funders donate to the Libertarian Party. Sarwark also said he had been speaking to Matt Kibbe, former president of conservative advocacy group Freedomworks, about supporting the party's nominee.
Johnson received almost 1 percent of the general election vote in 2012
A recent national poll had Johnson receiving 10 percent of support from registered voters,
Another national poll showed 44 percent of registered voters would want a third party to run against Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, and Hillary Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee.

You gotta admit the Libertarians are a lot more fun to watch than the stodgy old Republicans and much, much more than the stodgier older Democrats. Imagine Hillary doing that ... (Or, please, I don’t want to imagine.)

There was a snide hippie on the dais at the debate yesterday, kinda horse-faced; he seemed to me to express the libertarian ideals the best I didn’t say his expressions were realistic, or good, but they were nice and snide. I think his name was Darryl Perry
One suspects that it was just such a deliberate Libertarian objective when (apparently) the Dems ran alleged Losertarian Robert Sarvis in the Virginia governor's race, dutifully handing the GOP state to Terry MacAuliffe by splitting the non-Dem vote.
They will do this over and over.

Johnson is the best candidate to lose to Trump.
He’s arrogant, not even libertarian(went into it after he was governor), he’s from NM which Trump doesn’t need, he’s not likeable.
They should have went with the purist Glenn Beck kid or with nutcase McAfee who’s the most charismatic of them all.

From a bio I read about him in 2012. However, I just googled it up and it says he’s a non-practicing Lutheran.

.... There needs to be an equal and opposite well funded strategic operation to ensure another so called "Third Party" run by Bernie to split the Socialist vote down the middle.
