Veteran’s memorials are divisive. They are offensive toward people who are either (a) not veterans, or (b) don’t think America should exist as a country.

I would imagine the Left will make this argument before long, since their recent successes with their “get rid of Civil War memorials in the south” initiatives, as well as their successful actions to prohibit active-duty service members from wearing their uniforms at public events.

I would expect to see large-scale political movements coalesce around “Get Rid Of Shrines To Imperialist Wars” themes in the coming years.

I think it's a lot of the latter.

That graffiti looks gang-related -- illegal alien gang-related.

In all neighborhoods of our country, there is a ubiquitous reminder of the federal government on every third street corner: a cobalt-blue metal box with a "United States Postal Service" label.

In my general neighborhood, a deep-blue one thick with Bernie campaign signs (and the occasional Hillary one too), there are apparently a lot of people who find the term "United States" offensive enough that they deface these mail collection boxes with spray paint (generally black and green, interesting color choices, smacks of Islam) enough to obliterate the name completely.

In some cases USPS has given up and spray-painted the entire box blue, covering the "United States Postal Service" label completely (though "U.S. Mail" is still embossed on the metal and is legible).

The neighborhoods in which this sort of defacement is prominent seem to also include a lot of (a) "progressives" (involved in education, local government, or some form of nonprofit), or (b) illegal aliens. The consistent choice of paint colors and the focus on the "United States" label tells me it's one group which has been given specific orders.

I look forward to living in a country, under our new President Trump, where no one would dare deface the name of the United States.

And let’s not forget the Left’s allies in this, the Michael Medveds and Nikki Haleys.

I admit I am not a veteran, but why would I be offended by a veterans’ memorial? FWICS, between 6 and 7 percent of the US population are veterans, so why would memorials in their honor offend up to 94 percent of the US population?
