A rising NBA rookie was shot to death after breaking into a Dallas apartment he believed belonged to a friend, according to reports.
New Orleans Pelicans guard Bryce Dejean-Jones died from a gunshot wound to his abdomen early Saturday after he “kicked open the front door” to a Dallas apartment and the man sleeping inside woke up and shot him, the Dallas Morning News reported.

He must have been stoned to the point of being completely incoherent.
He can’t find his way back to the same apartment he was in earlier the same day & in which his child lives.
It’s a good thing for the ex girlfriend that he invaded the wrong apt. Sounds like he probably was homicidal.
Saw a pic of the apartments and they all look identical. I can imagine getting confused but not kicking down a door! Sounds like he was drunk/high and was ready for bear. The baby-mama is probably lucky it wasn’t her apartment.
And the resident of the apartment was fortunate to be armed. This guy was wrecked enough to kill him.
Didn’t even know there was such a sports team, which made for a very strange misreading of the headline for me.

They were the New Orleans Hornets until a year ago. They moved from Charlotte, and the current Charlotte franchise took back the name “Hornets”.
Must have been a mad kick too. I mean, like didn’t he even care about being able to shut the door again once he got in?

1)The 'friend' whose apartment he thought he was breaking into was female. Right there you know he was looking for trouble.
2) He actually kicked in TWO doors, the second being the locked bedroom door where the armed tenant had retreated. Again, he was obviously looking to perform some mayhem on his 'girlfriend'.
