Trump campaign eyeing big stadium for acceptance speech (Cleveland's football or baseball stadiums)

Donald Trump's campaign is considering booking one of Cleveland's big sports venues for his acceptance speech in July, two GOP sources familiar with the planning of the upcoming GOP convention say.

The sources said First Energy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, and Progressive Field, home of the city's Indians baseball team, are the two sites under consideration for Trump's acceptance speech on the final night of the convention.

One of the sources said the campaign is closing in on signing a contract for use of one of the two venues, with the football stadium currently the favorite for Trump's speech.

"It's going to be a big production," a Trump campaign adviser told CNN. "Given Trump's profile and how he handles things, nothing is off the table."

"And he's going to be intimately involved in it," the adviser added.

The outsides of the venues in Cleveland are going to be nuts. Adding 50,000 law abiding Trump supporters into an area filled with illegals and anarchists is going to really suck.

I am working security in both cities and Cleveland has me worried.

Part of the reason I am more confident in Philly is the exceptional performance of the Philly PD during the Pope's visit last year. The coordination with federal partners worked out really well. They blew away all expectations when it came to traffic control and keeping things clear for the motorcades.

I’ve been to the old stadium (I think it was an old stadium). Parked and then had to walk through the downtown. Is it the same or did they build a new stadium.

By the way, who was the brilliant idiot that put an open end on that old stadium. Coldest I’ve ever been watching that game.

What is a “populist”? What specific policies are “populist”? I think it’s a made up phrase to cast a negative light on candidates who have mass appeal. Nationalist is a more meaningful and accurate description.

The choice for Trump’s columns is obvious, two Corinthians.
