I’m of Irish descent - the Irish and the English have a gift for insult. I don’t know why - they’re an articulate people, generally. Perhaps coming from a tiny island always about to be invaded, they learn to fight fire with fire - in their own way.

The English are past masters of irony, sarcasm, and verbal insults; the Irish, not as much but they do hold up their end of it.

Being mostly, 3/4s, Hungarian/true Magyar, that's not really part of my heritage. OTOH, having been born & bred in NYC, in a rabidly Anglophilic family, and cutting my baby teeth on the words of Sir W.S. Gilbert's words, I come b y it rightly. LOL

Like the British Isles, poor little Hungary kept being invaded and taken over. We just fought and keep fighting back and now they have a WALL ! :-)
