CRUZ said it is his "hope" that the Republicans nominate a conservative, SIGNALING THAT THE NOMINEE HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED. "What I hope is that we have a Republican nominee that will actually defend conservative principles," Cruz said.

Cruz ... is still working to elect delegates, "even though Donald has the delegates to get the nomination." "One of the reasons that we are continuing to work to elect conservatives to be delegates, ... we intend to do everything we can to fight for conservative principles to prevent Washington forces from watering down the platform."....

He has no negotiating leverage with Trump...none. Trump runs the show here. He’s conservative enough for me. Cruz is a looney bird.

Cruz is clearly not a true conservative because he supported TPP, TPA and wanted amnesty for illegals. He’s a RINO, a member in good standing of the Bush Cartel

I recall JR referred to Ted Cruz as a ‘faux conservative’ -and that’s about right.

He’s the great pretender of constitutionalism who wants to uphold every sentence, every word, and every syllable, but...

Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 - Presidential Eligibility

I tried to not say too many bad opinions about Cruz, but he just can’t leave things alone.

Instead of supporting Trump to help him beat Hillary, his current behavior begs the question: Is he so deluded or stupid, or is he on Hillary’s payroll?

I cannot think of any other logical explanation for his current behavior.

“True conservative”....

I’ve considered myself a conservative all my life. Have never voted for a Democrat in my entire life. But, like so many, I feel like my vote has been taken advantage of by so many politicians who have claimed to be “conservative”, only to then stake out policies that are the opposite. Seems like every year the only “true conservatives” are the voters and not the ones on the ballot.

Cruz tried to make his campaign almost like a religious crusade, with the most important thing being that he was “conservative”, forgetting that what most people cared for was for jobs to come back, stop the illegals, and stop wasting so much money on foreigners along with bad trade deals.

"I keep wondering if Wendy Davis or Cecile Richards will come after Ted in 2018. If so, you can be sure I am sticking with Ted."

You have to be kidding! Texas GOP Senate 2018 primary will be a feeding frenzy! RICK PERRY 2018!

Thanks Dave.

God has given us many mysteries but the success of Trump isn't one of them. Too bad some of our so called smart politicians have still to figure out why Trump is winning.

Major attack today calling him a racist because he called out the crooked LaRaza Judge hearing the class action suit over Trump U.

Megan was third behind Hannity last month and judging by her lead story tonight she still doesn't have a clue.

Oh my true God, who art most gracious, lead our true nominee to greater glory. Watch over him while his enemies are ground unto eternal dust.

And, as for all the Tedlims in this thread ... the well is closed, Tedlims - now and forever. Thou shalt not drink the water of victory! But your lamentations are ... amusing.

Tedlims shall eat the dust now, and the dust of 2018, when Rick Perry will deliver Texas unto greater glory under Trump mid-terms! Tedlims shall eat dust ETERNALLY!

Schadenfreude, you Tedlims!

Don’t forget that whomever runs against Ted had better raise some big bucks fast.

Ted received an infusion of nearly $10,000,000 a few days before he dropped out of the race. Apparently, he gets to roll that $$ into the next campaign.

We, three old guys have been backing Trump since his first speech about building the wall in spite of some rabid Taco Terrorists on Free Republic.

There have been hundreds of Trump supporters on FR for a long time.

Hundreds of good Freepers have come around to support Trump, including the head Freeper!

How about you stop attacking Ted Cruz, a fine American who I voted for in the primary? Yes my vote will go for Trump in the general but many other Cruz voters are still unhappy. Insulting Cruz is not a good idea.
