I’m curious as to your thoughts.
Will or has the Trump nomination completely removed Christianity from the GOP/GOPe or even conservatism when it comes to public discourse?
If so?
Is it a good thing?
If not?
Is that a good thing?
Just asking.
I certainly HOPE Christianity and all other religions stop being cynical fodder for election season. Campaigning in churches or lording your very human morality over your very human opponent’s morality cheapens religion and distracts from the political issues.
In short, and to coin a phrase, maybe separation of church and state is a good idea.
What an odd question. The current Pope is a Communist, setting a large portion of the American Catholics into desperation. Some of use have reduced giving money to the church due to this occupier of St. Peters Chair
A very large portion of "Christians" either vote for the Commie Dems or do not vote at all
The sad thing is that you probably believe that there is real Christian influence in the party now when in fact it is only lip service. Do you remember when GW was first elected he had both Houses and not one Social Conservative issue was ever brought forward in legislation.
What does Christianity have to do with being raped and murdered by a Mexican?
Have you decided Trump is not a Christian? Or just that his nomination means the Christian definition of right and wrong can no longer be discussed because he is the nominee.
There's a difference between Christian discourse (which includes the right to disagree, by the way) and a campaign built around the idea that a person should be supported just because he claims to be a Christian.
Whether Trump (or Cruz) is a Christian or not is not my call. And the answer to that does not open or close the door to Christian discourse.
People who support Trump are not turning their back on Christianity. To imply that we are is quite an insult.
