Politico: How Hillary Loses
Politico ^ | May 27, 2016 | DAVID S. BERNSTEIN

It’s a terrifying moment for Democrats: Hillary Clinton’s double-digit lead in national polls has evaporated and panic is beginning to set in. Polls now show Donald Trump ahead of Clinton, or at worst only a few points behind. During the insanity of the Republican primary, it was easy for them to believe that Trump could never be president—that in a general election, mainstream voters would regard him as an absurdity. But Clinton remains a shaky candidate with historically high negatives, an email scandal that keeps getting worse and a stubborn primary opponent whose supporters may yet become a midsummer nightmare in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Republicans, seemingly in all-out civil war just weeks ago, have quickly fallen in line. Democrats are resigning themselves to a tough, ugly, painful and expensive street fight.

The numbers offer some reassurance for Democrats—but also some bad news.

The reassurance is that the recent polls probably don’t mean much. Trump’s current surge is likely driven by Republican voters coalescing around their nominee, and Clinton will almost certainly get a similar bump when Bernie Sanders lets go and Democratic voters return to the fold. Most pundits believe 2016 is still Clinton’s race to lose.

Here’s the bad news: There is now a clear path for her to lose it.

If you drill down enough, it’s clear there are at least four paths to a loss, and any one of them poses a real risk for a candidate likely to follow her usual careful, calculating playbook. The cold math of a potential Clinton defeat is not to be found in national polls, but in the Electoral College—and within each state’s unique demographics and culture. Trump won’t dramatically remake the political map, but he doesn’t need to. ...

I like the idea of aborting Hillary. The news that the latest polling shows Sanders has almost pulled even with Hillary in Kalifornia shows that lots of others think she should be aborted too.

“The company that this guy works for is a consulting firm that represents foreign countries, foreign dictators, foreign companies,” Morris said.

“He’s in possession of secure information and at the same time going out and pitching these companies to hire them to represent them.

“What a conflict of interest and what a potential of exposure of American secrets.”

"I never had sexual relations with that woman...Miss Lewinsky."

I would have had more respect for him if his behaviour rose to the level of actual relations. What they did was far more base. He uses weasel words even when they don't sound like weasel words.

- What if Clinton brings Warren onto the ticket? She can bring aboard Bernie supporters, being the moonbat that she is.

I am not worried about Warren, the whole Indian thing will hurt her. Plus she is 66 and Hillary 68, having two that old will be an issue,

- What if Clinton is dropped and Bernie gets it? Bernie does much better against Trump than Clinton does.

I would hope once Bernie's plans become more known and the amount of taxes it would take to implement them, more people would reject him.

But then again, you can never discount the stupidity of the average American

- What if they are both dropped and it’s a Biden/Warren ticket? Biden is a joke but again, Warren is an unknown and a certified socialist douche like Sanders.

Switching in Biden sad to say is the worst case scenario for the Republicans.

A few things not listed:

1) Large numbers of desperate white males and females (democrats and republicans) who have not voted the last couple of cycles will show up in large numbers and vote Trump.
2) Trump will pull 5-10% more Black voters
3) Many more union voters will go for Trump.

“I’m not worried with Clinton being the nominee. I’m worried about other scenarios.”

The worst case scenario is, Bernie drops out in exchange for becoming Hillary’s VP.

If that pairing came to pass, every single one of us would need to man the phone banks and knock doors to save the country.

(Here is what I wrote elsewhere, copy and paste it here.)
Hillary will not drop out. Her backers and indeed her own self will not allow it, after so much investment for her being potus for so long.

And frankly, we shouldn't want her to drop out. It is about time that both Clintons get what they richly deserved laid bare once and for all. And Trump will deliver the knock out punch(es), her playing the girl card notwithstanding.

Just in case, future young airheads have any fantasized romantic notion of the tragic heroine.

A bankrupt Hillary! campaign - what a sweet thought.

I will believe it when I see it, though.

Donald Trump can actually win if Clinton makes these four mistakes. Spoiler alert: She’s already making all of them.

Crooked Hillary's probably made/is making more than that. Trump is poised to destroy her made-up reputation by replacing it with the truth. She's foundering so bad that the Titanic would be a safer ride.

Evil me wants Obama to PROMISE to pardon her in return for her withdrawal.

And then she withdraws. And Obama goes golfing. . . .

With Kalifornia polls showing Sanders is almost even with Hillary, she’ll have to move fast in the next few weeks to use whatever she has left to get the pardon.

The reassurance is that the recent polls probably don’t mean much. Trump’s current surge is likely driven by Republican voters coalescing around their nominee...

Hmmm, this sounds very familiar... Where have I heard this sort of thing before? Oh yeah, it's pretty much what they said about Trump BEFORE he completely destroyed every other contender for the repub nomination.
