A top Republican National Committee (RNC) official sought to soothe business leaders worried about Donald Trump's influence on the party, saying at a private meeting on Tuesday that its presumptive presidential nominee would not dictate the party's platform.
Ben Key, the RNC platform committee"s executive director, offered the assurance during a meeting at the organization's headquarters on Capitol Hill, according to two sources in the room....
The source said several of those attending the meeting offered knowing smiles in response to the comment.
"And then he added... that the platform would not include some of the more controversial positions that Trump has taken," the source said....

Trump will be the ONLY Republican to get my vote this year, and for this very reason. The GOP has it’s own elitest agenda that stands in direct opposition to the agenda of We the People. I will not support that any longer. I hope and pray the GOP loses its majorities in both the House & Senate, and I will do all I can to make that happen.
It WILL be Trumps platform despite what the wish. Or ignore as GOPe fantasy.
Not sure that's where GOP leaders who love America need to be right now, unless they, too, are "rattled" by a possible disruption of their power over "the People."
