It may have felt like a pipe dream for many Bernie Sanders supporters: a Bernie vs. Trump televised debate. But the possibility seems to be getting closer and closer to becoming a reality. Both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have expressed a willingness to debate each other before the California primary on June 7. A debate almost happened in March, and now it’s looking like a debate is more and more likely to happen before the primary. After you read this article, take our poll at the very end of the story and let us know if you think Trump and Sanders should debate.

Here’s what you need to know.

A good chance for Sanders' supporters to get an unfiltered look at Trump. I think this is a "Can't lose" opportunity for the Donald.

If Donald pulls this off while Hillary sits grumpily on the sidelines, he really is a master showman.

The Young Turks? It will be a biased ambush of Trump. No way will it be fairly run.

It's a terrific idea. With so many issues, the far left and the far right agree on what the problems are. It's the solutions where the disagreement lies.

In many states, both Trump and Sanders won. That means a strong majority wants an outsider who doesn't take marching orders from the elite.

This will bring in unimaginable viewing numbers. It'll totally marginalize the political establishment. I say DO IT!

Trump is not risk averse. He takes the oxygen out of the room and Shows Hillary Clinton's smallness.

This is also reminiscent of Reagan debating his ol' sparring partner John B. Anderson one-on-one in 1980 for the general when Carter wouldn't debate. Carter was shamed in finally having to do a debate, where Reagan scored the KO.

"The Young Turks?"

They only "offered".

Epic debate. A Cruz v. Hillary warmup match, before the big event, is probably too much to ask for.

So? Trump will make THAT the story. Win-Win. Blood everywhere!

That would be too risky for Hillary to even think about.

Have the debate on Fox. Bernie already agreed to appear and the perception that Fox hates Trump makes this a perfect forum.

Yes, the Young Turks only offered, but I would want Trump to decline. I am sick of heavily biased “debates”. I want my politicians to refuse to participate in such things.

What does Trump have to lose? It'll add fuel to the dilemma the dems face with their rigged process and recent questionable pro-hillary delegate outcomes. It'll emphasize that a majority of the US wants someone who hasn't sold out to the DC scum. It'll make the nevertrumpistas even more marginalized and pathetic, helping them self-purge. Trump "lose" the debate? There's nothing that hasn't been thrown at him already.

It's just two old guys from NYC, who took polar opposite directions in life, and both succeeding mightily with their chosen paths. They're having fun, and educating US voters along the way. What's the harm?

This will effectively reduce Hillary to the status of an”Also Ran”.

It would be a "Can't lose" opportunity for Bernie. And a "Can't win" for Hillary. Depending on the moderator and format it's a risk for Trump -- but when did that ever stop him from doing anything?

Of course he should do it. Crazy Bernie only appears halfway sane when he's compared with Hillary.

:: I should post the whole article or what? ::

Hell, yeah...within FR copyright rules.

Here’s the thing, when FR citizens “click-thru” to an article, FR is tagged as the originator and a cookie gets baked on both my and FR’s IP/MAC address. The result is a statistical means of gaining money for the author or the website/blog. I don’t prefer that type of intrusion.

If I read the FULL article and want to read other offerings from that website, I’ll start a new tab and input the website URL. Yes, I’ll get a cookie baked on my IP/MAC address from the website, but (and that a BIG BUT!) that avoids FR being the click-thru identifier and bakes a cookie on their server.

Jim and John don’t need all that clutter.

I see absolutely no harm in them debating, I just don’t want the moderators and forum to be another ambush. Make it about the candidates, not the moderators.

Think about it. They'll have the goal of establishing their legitimacy in the current news scene. They have everything to gain by doing it very well.
