IRS chief: I’ve never spoken to Lois Lerner
washington times ^ | 5/23/16 | Stephen Dinan

RS Commissioner John Koskinen has declined to testify in his own defense at a congressional hearing Tuesday, but insisted in a statement that his bungling of a subpoena doesn’t rise to the level of “treason, or high crimes and misdemeanors” needed for him to be impeached.

The Judiciary Committee hearing is being viewed by some House Republicans as the precursor to impeachment, with the House’s top investigator saying Mr. Koskinen defied a congressional subpoena that demanded all of former IRS senior executive Lois G. Lerner’s emails be preserved as part of the investigation into tea party targeting.

But Mr. Koskinen, who said his schedule is too crowded for him to be able to appear on Tuesday, said the allegations against him are “unwarranted,” and no matter what, they don’t rise to the level of impeachment.

No one will do NOTHING about it.

Just more Kabuki theater in order to keep collecting their pay checks.

I remember the first time that I saw Koskinen.

The arrogance positively oozed from him.

A very nasty man.

Why is there always this crap about “rise to the level of”? We heard it all the time with the Clinton impeachment. There is nothing “rising” at all about this kind of official misconduct. It should be described as “falling to the level of” some kind of crap. It is despicable behavior and there is nothing uplifting or “rising” about it.

But his schedule is too crowded for him to take time out to appear before the Judiciary Committee in accordance with the subpoena. What arrogant XXXholes we have in this administration. Trump is going to need a YUGE broom.

I would stop short of the witness protection, or make him bargain away his retirement benefits for protection. HA

Gross negligence of duty is an impeachable and removable offense. We remove officers for,it, and cabinet and agency heads are removed regularly. Sometimes just because a new president comes in.

So we can remove you for just about anything we want. Gross negligence is not a job-keeping explanation or defense.

“”When I came to the IRS, I knew no one who worked at the agency, and to this day I have never met or spoken to former IRS Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner,” Mr. Koskinen said.”

Or as Bubba said, “Ah, never had sex with thar wonan, ever.... Ms. Lewinski” wasn’t believable then, and it’s not believable now.

America must wake up now! If we do not arrest and march these people through Washington in chains, they will do this to us (conservatives) in short order. When the rule of law collapses, evil rises.

He’s arrogant and has a lot of money —he gave a soccer/lacrosse stadium to Duke University — but it’s not old or inherited money so far as I’ve been able to find out.

Well isn't that special, and wrong?!

Congress determines what charges are warranted and impeachable, not some pissant agency head!!

“I’ve never spoken to...”

Sounds like weasel words to me. “We’ve never spoken...” (But I’ve emailed, voice-mailed, and texted her dozens of times...).

What is the meaning of the word "is"?
