I believe debt is about $23 billion, kind of a lot, really. Related:

The underlying source indicates that the vehicles are in compliance, so, I don't get it.

Maybe put swing-away steering columns for ease of entry and egress, and make them swing either way.

Regulatory payback is a bitch, huh?

Volkswagen strikes back.

I'm sure the entire auto industry is doing the same stuff. I'm also sure that no American news outlet would have touched this story in fear of Government Motors, er, I mean the White House stepping in for punishment of the reporters.

I concur - baseline is quoted as 20 minutes for the process, the vehicles average 22 minutes. I don’t see the problem, just another attack on modern diesel technology.

You just KNEW that VW wasn’t going to be the only one, didn’t you?

Correct. If they are running about 22 minutes and the govt requires 20 minutes, sounds like they are meeting the govt requirements.

It was rumored that the Fiat 500’s exhaust smelled strongly of anchovies, and the occasional whiff of pepperoni.

That diesel exhaust fluid is expensive.

And, no, that isn’t a joke. It’s a real thing.

That diesel exhaust fluid is expensive.

Depends on what you mean by "expensive"

And, no, that isn’t a joke. It’s a real thing.

I know it is.I've driving cars that require it since early 2009.

It certainly does appear as if Maoists in Europe and the US are trying to kill diesel. To be replaced, presumably,by huge rubber bands I guess, which would be a sight to behold in a locomotive or 18 wheeler.

since nobody brought it up, I will

Does upper cylinder lubricant clean carbon varnish from glow plugs?

does it do any good at all

lastly, why do people place a rag in the drivers side window when leaving a vehicle beside the road?

I didn’t click the links, but the last entry “Bull of the Day...” wouldn’t be a strong buy recommendation a week before the bottom falls out would it? Apparently its time to sheer the sheep.

“I concur - baseline is quoted as 20 minutes for the process, the vehicles average 22 minutes. “

Er, it is NOT supposed to cut off.

Test runs twenty minutes so it is timed to run for the test only.

If it cuts off, it is NOT in compliance.

The analysis on F-C is decidedly mixed; sales are up strongly, the price of oil being lower helped pry out the pent-up demand, and the Jeep brand is one of the strongest there is.
