I read that for some reason Lorne Michaels doesn’t want them to memorize their lines, everybody has to use cue cards or the teleprompter.
I agree, she’s had years now to work on that impression of Hillary and it never gets any better.
And Taran Killam did such a bad Trump that they had to bring back Darrell Hammond, who IS actually talented.
Overall, pretty pathetic.
The reason past casts didn’t is because SNL was not overly political in the past. Now with all this boring political humor, apparently they have to keep abreast of the news up to the last minute, hence - I guess - the cue cards. It stinks - they can’t even do it properly. Carson knew how to read a cue card!
Oh, how I long for Dan Ackroyd, Dana Carvey, Martin Short, Eddie Murphy et all. Even Phil Hartman.

I love Darryl Hammond. Last night he only had one line - was standing there as Bill Clinton just to say that one little thing.
I think the actors have to rehearse their lines but are compelled to read the cue cards since the script can change at any time.
And Hillary (like Obama) is notorious for using teleprompters. I’d say it’s part of the joke if Hillary’s impersonator is obviously reading from one.
