The Lee Amendment to defund President Obama’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulation failed in the Senate yesterday because not enough Republicans backed it. The Amendment was tabled by a vote of 60-37.
Jeremy Carl aptly describes this vote as a defeat for conservatism, community control, and common sense. It is a victory, as Carl says, for turning the federal government into a National Zoning board, forcing high density housing on unwilling cities and towns, and letting bureaucrats decide the racial, ethnic and income balance of local communities.

Listened to both, Mary Kay Bacallao and Derrick Grayson give presentations at my county republican meeting earlier this month.
Both candidates were conservative however Derrick Grayson has a commanding presence. He was also openly carrying.
I would love for Derrick to win and contribute his strong conservative opinions as a member of the Black Congressional Caucus. :-)

Ted Cruz was an early sponsor of Lee’s amendment. Trump has been silent on this issue. In so far as Frank Trump made most of his money on low and middile income housing projects, Trump understands the issue. Donald Trump just doesn’t care. He’s a progressive conman who bamboozled ersatz conservatives wanting a “leader” and is now pivoting to get Bernie Sanders supporters.

Ted Cruz chose to sit on beach in Mexico when this Senate vote was taken. I see how much he “supports” Lee’s amendment. I’ll buy you a clue: Not at all.
Cruz spoke out against the Hud policy months ago. It would have been nice for him to have been in DC to vote for this. But that changes nothing about Fred’s son.
