The Divorce Revolution Has Bred An Army Of Woman Haters
The Federalist ^ | May 19, 2016 | W. Bradford Wilcox

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d earn the ire of a character named Turd Flinging Monkey, the nom de plume of a popular online activist. A leader in the Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) movement, which encourages men to avoid romantic relationships with women, Monkey did not take kindly to my new Prager University video talking up the benefits of marriage for men.

In the video, I noted, among other things, that married men work harder (about 400 more hours), smarter (they’re less likely to quit without having found another job), and more successfully (they make about $16,000 more per year) than their single peers. I described these as features, not bugs, of married life for men.

I’m not sure that separation from God due to a life of fornication is an improvement.

You are right.
Studies of correlation do not distinguish between cause and effect. It’s perfectly possible that a stable marriage is an effect, not a cause. Wilcox does not consider that. A common fault with these things. Just like that business of playing Mozart to babies.

I think it’s fine if a man decides other men have all he needs.

Married men understand that being seen as inadequate providers is a fast route to divorce court.

For some money grabbing women. Other women, who give their heart and soul to the marriage and are SAHM worry like hell for their husbands in this economy. Jobs being shipped overseas or given to illegals. It's hard to raise a family and the stress can pour down on both partners.

Many single men have a preference for leisure and low stress over income.

Depends on the man and the job, if he has one. If he doesn't, he's probably living in his parents basement and playing video games. If he works, it depends on the job. Companies are demanding more hours out of workers. If anything, single men probably are forced to work longer hours than married men.

Divorce lawyers don’t help.
Why do you think they want gay marriage cause they care? No they triple their business.

Sorry to hear that,bp. No words of wisdom, just a wish for you to emerge from this with a modicum of happiness.
I'm dedicating my remaining time to my kids and myself. I plan on being prosperous in my new bachelorhood. I'm going to devote my brainpower to investing. And when the inevitably females come, trying to hone in on my happiness and prosperity, they will find me grinning ear-to-ear, with both arms extended: One hand in the "stop" position, and the other hand with the middle-finger extended.

“The Divorce Revolution Has Bred An Army Of Woman Haters”

If there is an army of woman haters it is in response to the huge army of MAN-Hating women out there who view marriage as a get rich quick scheme. The feminist movement has brainwashed women to see men as their enemy and not their partners. Men see the system as greatly biased against them and are understandably reluctant to stick their face in a lawn mower.

“On the other hand I do understand why the MGTOW movement is gaining adherents, particularly among the children of divorce.”

Me, too. But there’s a stink of cowardice among the I REFUSE TO BE HURT BY EVIL WOMEN bravado. I read some of the MGTOW stuff and puzzle. These are heterosexuals, right? They talk like celibates, which is very odd for all but a tiny handful of men. If they do want sex, it’s hard to imagine how they could even enjoy it with the women they hold such contempt for. Seriously, they sound like they don’t even LIKE women anymore. I find that creepy.

“Mr. Wolcox commits a correlation is causation error. Women given their tendency towards hypergamy will only marry men who have the characteristics that are associated with higher socioeconomic status or already achieve higher socioeconomic status.”

Correct.

I am happily married, but it is somewhat of a fluke, in that I married a former military woman who is a medical doctor whom I have known since about age 2. (My father was the ranch foreman on a ranch spanning an Apache reservation and her father was quite literally an Indian Chief.)

But most American woman are self-entitled horrid people, with all the backing of the legal and social community.

In general, I would recommend against marrying any of them.

Yep.

I have an Army buddy who works as a pilot flying oilfield guys all over Texas and New Mexico. Not high income, but plenty of leisure time and plenty of money in the bank — because he can live frugally without a leech to drain his resources.

It’s funny, but a guy in my hometown killed his ex-wife because she insisted on taking EVERYTHING, including his beloved Porsche.

She royally screwed him over. So he showed up one day and shot her at the front door. Their daughter called the cops from under her bed. Then he drove all over the county until he holed up in an apartment. The whole time, he was calling into a Detroit radio show explaining himself.

I think he snuffed himself when he couldn’t see a way out.

“Some men like to wallow in their loserness.”

True, but these losers have a point. The legal system is completely stacked against men, from assumed-rapist-in-college to divorce court to taking your guns and freedom on her word.

The smartest divorcee I knew was a friend. His wife was a shrew and she spawned two shewette daughters. She demanded sole custody and an unfair split of assets.

He immediately complied, put the child support payments in the custody of the Court, declined all visitation rights for the kids and moved away and is rather hard to find.

She would periodically try to cause him trouble, chiefly because she blew through all the money he left her in about a year, but could never be found for further milking — and apparently there is no legal obligation to be found if you cease to have custodial rights.

She’s no longer a member of the country club, but rather teaching a a public middle school. She was a real looker, but now looks rather fat and plain.

The boytoy she was screwing has moved on and her kids are losers.

He’s doing extremely well for himself in Costa Rica, or so I’ve heard.

The old Benny Hill doggerel comes to mind...

“He said son, stop running round,
its time for you to settle down.

I said to me pop, ‘Dad, look...
Why would I want to buy a book?
When there’s an open lendin’ library
In the town?’”

Family Court is the most unfair process you will ever have to deal with... pray you never have to. It is not designed to find a quick reasonable resolution to divorce, or protect the children... it it just an irrational mess that will leave everyone involved broken.

I practice mostly family law, and I was 100% against gay marriage. But, please, continue making broad sweeping generalizations.

The right partner in many cases was there in the early 20s, but they think they can do better.

Then fast forward ten years and they’re sitting in a bar complaining that “all of the good ones are taken.”

And it can be worse. I lost a friend to suicide from being denied access to his daughters out of a spiteful and false accusation of child molestation. That can be a very difficult thing to forget.

Some women can be absolutely brutal. There are some that are heartless. They’re subhuman. It’s all about getting what they want. They’ll knowingly lie or do whatever to get their way. This is what society has become.

Yeah, I know there are some real dirtbag and useless men but there are more women demanding a perfect world that revolves around their ass. As this type woman gets older, they’re miserable because no one wants them. They won’t accept that so much of it was their feminist fault.
