Actually the Sanders-Hillary situation is almost mirror opposite the Cruz-Trump scenario. Trump was pulling in crowds of 31,000-plus, with thousands stranded outside the venue, unable to get in. Cruz was pulling crowds of 22 up to a few hundred.
Sanders is drawing very large, enthusiastic crowds—I don’t have exact figures—while Hillary, with the entire DNC party apparatus behind her, draws vastly smaller, fairly blase crowds.
I.e.: the numbers and enthusiasm are all on Trump’s and Sanders’ sides. The people/voters have made their preference clear. Both respective party Establishments oppose Trump and Sanders, however. Trump seems to be overcoming the resistance; Sanders remains out-maneuvered.
