Hannity drives me nuts with his questions to his guests...he ALWAYS goes into one of his lengthy, repetitive, robotic mantras (i.e., "We have blank unemployment, blank folks on welfare, blank dollars in debt, blank folks unemployed, blank decrease in incomes"....on and on and on and on).
When he goes into one of these too-lengthy questions I turn my mute on till I see his lips stop moving and I can see that his guest is finally able to answer.
My journalism prof hammered into our skulls full of mush that "LISTS ARE YOUR ENEMIES!", both in verbal and written efforts. The tedium and momentum-stoppages of endless "lists" in any speech or article are self-evident.
That being said, I grin and bear Hannity's "list" faults because the rest of him is an informed, moral, energetic man's man whom I admire for his steadfast fighting the good conservative fight.
How many other "conservative" talk show hosts EVER get out from behind their comfy golden microphones to put their money where their mouth is? For instance, do they travel here and there to "front lines" such as the Mexican border where Sean spent time observing, reporting.....and meeting with our border agents in person?
Sean Hannity is a great American. I'd like to list all his fine attributes, but I don't want to be another list-maker, LOL.
Leni
LOL!
I do the VERY same thing— mute is “on” until the guest responds!
However, I do this all day long with the all-too-verbose pundits entrenched in news programming. LOL!!
I agree with you, Sean is a mess, but often found to be bold in the crunch.
I had to smile when I read your post because I know that Hannity is a Lister.
But as you correctly point out, his lists are right!
True... and my journalism prof graded us off for writing with trite language like 'lashed out'... today that phrase is a ticket to becoming a journalist... along with lying.
I love Sean and can put up with his lists. I don’t watch Fox but I would watch Sean (but lately that is hockey time, sorry, Sean, you understand) any time. I also listen to him in the car when I’m not in these hills where his station doesn’t come in clearly.
I have defended him here for very long. His employee even thanked me once.
He has courage. He is hog tied by his bosses, clearly, but he doesn’t get extra pay or perks for the party lines like Limbaugh and others - instead, he sneaks bits and pieces of important truth to us around his imposed limits. He is fair to people I don’t like, but I’m sure it’s like defending murderers in court - something that needs to be done. But I know where his heart is, and it’s with America and her ordinary people. He loves freedom and the Constitution as much as I do, and it’s not just lip service.
I actually turned on Rush for 3 minutes in the car today. Only to hear him disgustingly bragging about his sex life, about how much sex he gets, and cutting immediately to commercial like Goerge Costanza wanting to go out at the top of his joke. His wife is supposedly very sick. So where is he getting all this sex? How inappropriate. In former years I would have thought him clever. Now I think he plans all these little joke-to-break bits to make himself look good. And it no longer does.
