CNBC analyst are tip-toeing around the fact that Target is VERY worried. They were all falling over themselves about, "oh well, all retail is down right now, and Walmart is not immune to general market negativity".

Now they are dancing around the stunning numbers. Even my wife said the obvious: "Looks like Target customers went to Wal Mart recently".

Don't know if that is the case, but perception seems to be reality here. ......Now if they can just stock some .22LR I'll make a visit.

Target allowing perverts into ladies rest rooms and dressing rooms happened just a few weeks ago. Would it as of these reports impacted Targets profits?

If Target already had a problem, why did they ever do something so dumb? Perhaps their decision makers were already trashing Target with bad decision making before this blunder.

I would never try on clothes in Target. Yuck. Who knows where their women's clothing has been?

I hate target.

I despise Walmart, which is hating minus 10%.

Yeah, don’t elevate Walmart to something they no longer are. Their liberal women on their board (and men) have given in to liberal humanistic stuff, gay marriage, all the stuff we hate. The only thing they haven’t done is the bathroom thing.

Look it up. Don’t put them on a pedestal.

That said, I don’t want to take away from my enjoyment seeing the liberal women who shop at Target get worried...oh, sorry, silly me, they don’t know this.

WalMart is screwing down on inventory, possibly as a reaction to appeasing Obozo and raising wages.

For past 3 years they have sucked locally about what they carry and how much they are out of inventory.

I don’t like to shop WalMart, especially for groceries. They don’t have a clue on grocery marketing.

There is a locally owned family operation that kicked them to the curb. But for that matter they do everyone else but HEB in Abilene. And they hold their own with them.

WalMart has been raising prices and cutting inventory for a number of years. They closed 2 in my area that had been open less than 6 months. (small neighborhood format)

I knew a retailer who worked for Sam Walton when he had 12 stores. They were a good operation for a long time. I met their Labor Relations Lawyer when I lived in OK, at a seminar he was involved in. They are now run by Kmart mentality management.

They are bullies with suppliers, but that has come home to them. Their comp store numbers have been stagnant for some time. Their model appears to be reaching maturity and declining.

Actually not stunning numbers compared to last year. But yeah, some Target customers going to Walmart undoubtedly helped beat expectations.

Kudos to Walmart. They pulled that off in a VERY tough retail environment.

Guys, Targets policy was in effect for 2 weeks before the end of last quarter, and the “Boycott” didn’t happen until a week or two after it was announced... settle down.

TGT is down because the economy is slowing, and when cashflows tighten folks move down the food chain, not up. If you aren’t getting as much overtime, you shop at cheaper stores... Wal Mart gained from this.. .however the global slowdown is hitting the entire segment.

Next quarter you will know if TGT is being affected. because if it is, it will be performing well outside the norm of the industry segment. This earnings quarter has zero from any boycott... August report is when you will see any effect from the boycott.

Relax, Target may be seeing it in its bottom line right now, but they don’t have to publicly report anything until August... so that’s when there can be no denying of impact if there is any.

So folks need to just commit to avoiding Target in large numbers... if you do, next quarter call/earnings will be disasterous... if folks don’t stick to their guns, it won’t be.

Wonder if any of Target’s senior management shorted the stock through strawmen recently.

Rush said something scary yesterday. He said these policies the leftists are pushing is to ultimately end private property.

See when private companies don't play along with the goverments perversion, notice they can only enforce a presidential decree on the public, government owned business, shcools, universities etc.

When BHO says it is all about being fair for all, then private companies may not be fair to all and so must be acquired to force compliance. Then it moves to even more private property, yours and my land and house.

The leftist hate citizens being able to own private property, business is part of that private property they don't always follow the dictates of government and so must be punished to the point of bankruptcy.

The beauracrat that inposed the $154,000 fine on Melissa Sweet cakes business is serving on the Oregon state labor board, so he can do this. He has just won the primary to run for Secretary of State and he is a nasty guy against private business or property.

I used to shop wherever and I like some of the brands that Target sells, but Walmart gets all my business now.

Now if they can just stock some .22LR I'll make a visit.

I've not seen a single box of .22LR in any of many Walmarts I've been since 2011...but, believe it or not, the Walmart I've been shopping at lately had 6 boxes of Winchester Wildcat .22LR the last time I was there!

I bought 3. It was a surreal experience even seeing them in the case let along actually buying one and I got three!!!

I thought about having the clerk autograph the receipt and then framing it.
