An EgyptAir flight heading from Paris to Cairo has disappeared from radar, the airline tweeted.

That said, somebody should tell them they do not drown if they hit the water at that velocity...

If you dive in, yes, that wouldn't count. But if you gently descend and land on the water, and let the plane sink, then it counts. The Indonesian pilot a couple of years ago had a pretty sophisticated flight simulator at home where he could practice those types of maneuvers.

Airliners.net is reporting that on FlightRadar24 the plane is registration SU-GCC an Egypt Air Airbus 320.

Was a storm north of Italy, in flight path. Would have impacted flight during first 2 hours.

Since plane disappeared later, weather was unlikely to be a major factor.
