To reduce sometimes lengthy lines at airport security checkpoints, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal said Monday that Americas airlines need to drop their baggage fees this summer.
Not only would it save people time and money, he said, it would also make them safer.
We are urging the airlines to do the right thing, Blumenthal said.
...
During a press conference at the Sheraton Hotel at Bradley International Airport, Blumenthal called the pileups at many Transportation Security Agency checkpoints soft targets that terrorists are eyeing.
...
Given that airlines are rolling in profits, they should give up the fees out of respect for their customers, Blumenthal said.

How about we turn the clock back to 2011 and don’t create DHS in the first place?

Airlines should offer ‘terror free’ flights with minimal checks...only caveat is that they check your background for Muslim influence beforehand. And they can charge a little extra for the privilege. Watch how fast they speed up.

How is dropping baggage check fees going to reduce the line wait?

If the TSA is short on manpower why are they running check points at political rallies for Trump, Clinton, Sanders and others?
What does that have to do with TRANSPORTATION?
Why Is the TSA at Trump Rallies?

Not...gasp, choke...profits! Oh my heavens to Betsy!
If airlines didn't make profits, they wouldn't exist. But Senator Blumenidiot knows his voters haven't a clue about that and will applaud his statement. All they know is that someone, somewhere has mo' money than they do, and that is wrooooooong. That last word was said in Eric Cartman voice.

Why doesn’t TSA eat the crap sandwich and open up “express lanes” for people with no carry on bags?
We didn’t have this goat rodeo until Muslims decided to fly airplanes into perfectly good skyscrapers.

Bag fees are paid at the ticket counter.
They have no bearing whatsoever on procedures at TSA checkpoints.
Another out of touch DC doofus.

This is called a work slowdown in union-speak.
The way to deal with it is to lay off or send all TSA personnel out into the parking lots. Call each employee in to work, but only as needed. Tell them all, if they are not called in three days, go find another job.
