It turns out Iran
(Excerpt) Read more at nypost.com ...
CIA abandoned their man.
The Obama administration, meanwhile, is too busy trying to meet Irans new demands under the nuclear deal to even think about seeking justice for an American citizen who served his nation with honor.I suspect that more than a few in the general population view the "Iran Deal" negatively; personally I think it's treason.
-—CIA abandoned their man.-—
Is that true, he worked for the CIA or you just throwing out red meat..
Has anyone asked why this fool went to Iran?
Would an Administration that abandoned their Benghazi men also do this..?
Not a flash of doubt.
This is one case where I hope President Trump deliveries the long bomb with the nuclear football.
He was visiting his grandmother.
The Mullahs needed the nuke deal waaaaaaay more than we did. And we didn’t.
And yet they were torturing this guy and blowing up a 1:1 model of one of our aircraft carriers on national television.
And in spite all that, the Americans did NOT walk away from the negotiating table.
To law-and-order types like us, that looks reallllllly bad.
But for dictatorial types with 1,000 years of camel trading experience HOW DOES IT LOOK...?
HUNDREDS of times worse.
Everyone else in the world seems to believe Hekmati is CIA, and the extraordinary lengths that quite a number of media figures went to publicize this particular case was eye-opening, especially since we had a Marine languishing in Mexico as well at the time.
Also, notice there is no mention whatsoever of how exactly Hekmati entered Iran - not only in this story, but in ANY story about the case going back years.
Iran does issue tourist/visitor visas, even to Americans. As a legit visitor Hekmati would have been granted one.
Not a good reason.
He entered Iran on his Iranian passport as an Iranian citizen, therefore, by doing so, he abjured his right to US protection abroad. This is why dual citizenship, while it is unlawfully tolerated, the US State Dept. warns those entering the foreign country of their birth on their foreign passports that doing so is not advised because of the legal ramifications. While it may make entry easier, by doing so, they subject themselves to the full law of that foreign country, both civil & political. At that moment of entry into the foreign country on the passport of that foreign country the US no longer has any legal authority to step in on their behalf because in the eyes of the law, they are foreigners to the US govt. and citizens under the country of the passport they used.
The ignorance of the law, even here on freepers, is astounding, especially in light of this site’s support of our military. And for the life of me, I do not understand the logic of one who swears an oath to the US and to uphold & protect the US Constitution, why that person would even entertain traveling as a foreigner & not as a proud US active duty/veteran of the US military.

Can you source this for me please? I wasn’t aware of this item.
I found some other interesting info on Hekmati, including evidence of mortgage fraud. Check this out:
That he founded a company called Lucid Linguistics LLC is public record. He used to own the domain lucidlinguistics.com, but it’s now owned by a cybersquatter.
Searching the Web Archive for data, I found previous versions of his website: https://web.archive.org/web/20080330194402/http://www.lucidlinguistics.com/
Note the phone number. I searched on the phone number and found this:
Same name, same phone number. Notice there are 2 posts by that user. On the other post from that same user, he claims to have been in the mortgage lending industry for 14 years (impossible given his age) and advises someone to commit fraud.
Couldn’t find any info on the “Princecorp Lending” company he claimed to be with.
Google: marine Iran prison passport
It was covered by many conservative media outlets. The guy supposedly has now formally renounced his Iranian citizenship and given up his Iranian passport.
Interesting. Then that means his mother’s claim that he had a visa was a false claim.
bmfl
Pentagon twits are about putting American soldiers in prison, not rescuing them.
