GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (d-ma) as "Pocahontas" in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, she wrote in a piece published Saturday.
Trump told Dowd that he had not been asked by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) in his meeting with him last week to tone down his rhetoric directed at women.
Dowd also asked him if he had been criticized by Republicans for his Twitter feud with Warren.
"You mean Pocahontas?” Trump shot back.
Trump and Warren have engaged in a long battle on Twitter, trading barbs over his rhetoric toward women and her Native American heritage.

I would suspect that Dowd mis-heard what he said. She thought Pocahontas when he really said Fauxocahontas.
Hoping as well but this is a key area-women-where I think his candidacy may be a disaster in a general nationwide election.

Perfect example of a dishonest piece. Look at this line in the article:

This leads the casual, uninformed reader to assume that Trump is making fun of her because she’s an Indian. In reality, of course, he is making fun of her because she falsely claimed to be of Indian ancestry and used it to get into school and win office. She is a phony. And the author is either the victim of terrible editing, or it’s a subtle hit piece.

hahah, tone it down. Screw you Paul Ryan, entitlement reform as you propose it was on the ballot in 2012 and got summarily beaten. Landslide! You and Mitt Romney had your chance now move aside. Does anyone here remember a single thing about the Ryan debate with Biden? By the way, “conservatism” as defined by you was on the ballot in the primaries and didn’t muster 5% of the vote. You are not as adored as you think you are.
