...It's in contrast to water levels for Lake Michigan and Lake Huron in 2013, which were 2 feet below average, The (Waukegan) News-Sun (http://trib.in/23IJPoG ) reported. The two lakes are measured together because the Straits of Mackinac connect them.

"That's almost a 4-foot difference between today," Hungness said. "Right now, the lake is closest to being the highest it's ever been...

And we’ll need another Oversight Dept to watch the Department of Lake Water Levels work on that issue.

Yesterday inland from Lake Michigan about 40 miles I was at my youngest grandson's little league game. It was windy , drizzling, and cold. Then the rain started. The kids took shelter in the dug out until it slowed down a little, then back out on the field. Some of the kids were in short sleeved t-shirts.

The parents and grandparents got drenched in the cold rain. One old geezer said, "well, it is Michigan, it could be worse." The old farts words were right on the money. Five minutes later the rain turned into an ice storm.

The game was not called off. The kids continued to play, although their clothes were nice and muddy from sliding into bases. They didn't complain.

I didn’t know that you were that old Hungneess. Hungness said. “Right now, the lake is closest to being the highest it’s ever been.”

The reason lake levels are higher is because a couple of years ago the effect of global warming made the ocean levels rise thus reducing lake levels.

But recently the great efforts to curb global warming by China, India, and other up and coming industrialized nations, has caused ocean levels to fall thus making lake levels rise.

Snowfall levels MAY reflect snowfall amounts. But I haven’t seen any real scientific studies chronicling that. I do know that snowfall levels effecting lake levels is crazy talk.

I currently live on the Lake Michigan shoreline; it’s snowing here, too.

;’)

We had almost no snow this year, and it was cold, but not like the previous two winters, which were brutally cold.

With a staff of several hundred on each lake.
Full time benefits, a union, just like our “guardians” at our airport.

The lake levels are higher because all the ice cubes the fisherman and other boaters are dropping into the lake from their drinks then global warming melting said ice.....

I thought the lake levels were rising because of all the guns lost in boating accidents...

It’s clear to me that the higher lake levels are caused by the obesity crisis. Too many fat ass boaters displacing way more water.

Do the lakes connect to the Saint Lawrence seaway? I know there’s a lot of shipping on the lakes.
