Well heck yeah. It's a "commonsense safety" issue right? So all you bad guys better just face the fact that you're gonna have to register those stolen firearms cause if you don't you'll be breaking the la.................. Oh. Never mind. Once again, only law abiding citizens will be affected by this infringement.

They already knew this LEO had access to guns. How did this knowledge eliminate or mitigate this event?

A national gun registry would have prevented this? Not in the real world.

It would work just as well as auto registration prevents drunk driving.

Two of the seven guns Tordil surrendered were registered in Maryland ... Maryland law requires residents to register handguns and assault weapons in the state within 90 days of purchase or moving to the state. It was not clear whether or not Tordil was in compliance with the law.

The Washington Post should have released the audio tape from 1991 where Eulalio Tordil threatens to shoot people in 2016. /s

When Hitler first came to power he created a gun registry then followed up by gun confiscation

There are more guns in this country than illegals, yet liberals insist it would be impossible to identify every single illegal. Weird how they think it would work with guns.

Libs and Dems been pushing gun registration since 1962 as the cure for all crime problems.

First just handguns. Rifles and shotguns will not be affected.
Then all guns.
Now demands on handgun bans and registration of long guns.
Now bans on “military” style rifles and shotguns.

Never trust a Dem or Lib.

This shooting spree shows a need for a national gun registry of all police privately owned firearms.

Of any group who would be in a position to give themselves legal access to any firearm of their choosing, federal law enforcement is at the top of the list, just below the military. Had every firearm in the US been in a “registry”, this murderer would have still done his evil deed.

A gun registry will do nothing to do prevent mass shootings.

Canada abolished its long gun registry because it inconvenienced hunters and sportsmen without doing a thing to reduce real crime.

Let the Washington Post explain how infringing upon the Second Amendment makes the rest of us safer.

If I’m ever in a public place attacked by terrorists or armed robbers, I will check their weapons for a Bayonet lug, Threaded barrel, Grenade launcher, or Barrel shroud. If they have any two of those, I will panic. If they have only one, I will ask if their weapons are unregistered.

If a terrorist or robber doesn’t have at least one feature on an unregistered weapon or two on a registered weapon, I will ignore the criminal and go back to enjoying my meal/entertainment.
