U.S. immigration officials are planning a month-long series of raids in May and June to deport hundreds of Central American mothers and children found to have entered the country illegally, according to sources and an internal document seen by Reuters.

The operation would likely be the largest deportation sweep targeting immigrant families by the administration of President Barack Obama this year after a similar drive over two days in January that focused on Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina.

Those raids, which resulted in the detention of 121 people, mostly women and children, sparked an outcry from immigration advocates and criticism from some Democrats, including the party's presidential election frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Not much of a "raid" if you give them 1-2 months to hide.

This is a joke, right? Border Patrol just reported that thousands are again crossing the border with most being released.

I'm just astounded that this ploy is suppose to placate the citizens. Time to build the double fence that worked so well in California, courtesy of Rep. Duncan Hunter Sr.

ONE MORE TIME IN CASE SOME MISSED MY PAST ARTICLES AND POSTINGS: We don't need a "wall". The double fence with lights/sensors and BP patrolling in between reduced illegal immigration by over 93% in California years ago. It pushed the Southwest illegal crossings out to eastern Arizona. Remember the Minutemen and all that hoopla?

Sheesh, this is not rocket science nor is it expensive. There are such vast stretches of wasteland in the southwest that the coyotes and their human cargo can't cross due to the distance from the border to staging areas (towns/cities). Texas is another matter with so many towns/cities right next to the border.

AGAIN, I'VE DRIVEN FROM SAN DIEGO TO TUCSON on I-8 TO JOIN THE MINUTEMEN. Unless the coyotes were to develop a military size logistics operation, there needs to be no wall or fence in the those huge desert areas so many miles from the border (look on a frigging map). JUST BUILD THE CALIFORINA FENCE IN THE AREAS WHERE THEY CROSS WITH THEIR COUPLE JUGS OF WATER! The deserts will take care of the rest.

ALSO, MR. TRUMP, GET SMART AND STOP CALLING IT A WALL. That turns people off. Call it a sovereign barrier or something to that effect.

How many times do I have to say this until someone here or elsewhere realizes what is needed? and what is not needed? Yes, I've sent these type of messages to the Congress-critters. If Trump were to call his "wall" something else, it may work better.

This is just for show to gin up sympathy for those poor aliens as they are filmed being dragged out their homes amidst wailings, rendings and general gnashings of the teeth.

Two important things to note here: The article says: “Those raids, which resulted in the detention of 121 people...”. Detention only. It never says anything about actual deportation.

Oh, but later in the article it does say:

“Many of those apprehended for unlawful entry are put into deportation proceedings in court but do not show up for their scheduled appearance before a judge or ignore court orders to leave the country.”

Also, from USCIS site: "Until further notice, employers should continue using Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. This current version of the form continues to be effective even after the Office of Management and Budget control number expiration date of March 31, 2016, has passed. USCIS will provide updated information about the new version of Form I-9 as it becomes available. Employers must complete Form I-9 for all newly hired employees to verify their identity and authorization to work in the U.S.

As an owner of 3 small companies in the 90's, I was reguired to fill out Form I-9 for everyone, no matter race, ethnicity, national origin, sex (whatever that is) et al.

I've always believed that if INS were to enforce said requirement, there would be less illegals taking our jobs. Back in those days INS did more and raided suspect companies almost every day, and illegals WERE deported.

Beside the double fence, if more tax dollars (ack) were to go to busting companies who fudge the I-9 form, we would not have such a huge influx of illegals. If they can't work, there's no reason for them to cross

"“Many of those apprehended for unlawful entry are put into deportation proceedings in court but do not show up for their scheduled appearance before a judge or ignore court orders to leave the country.”"

Yes, it's called catch and release by the Border Patrol and Customs Border Protection some miles from the border. I'd like to know exactly who decided that illegal immigrants get a day in court, who rarely appear. Another failed policy or law.

1. Again, start doing daily raids on companies who fudge or fraudulently file I-9 forms. I didn't include in my above post, but it was legal citizens who were reporting the companies when the daily raids occurred. Hammer those companies harshly - thousands for every offense.
2. Stop the insanity of giving legal rights to illegals to appear for court, no matter what their claim;
3. STOP Obama's and partly Bush's "catch and release".
4. Deport EVERY single illegal as Eisenhower did. NO, I have no heart about tearing illegal families apart. I care more about our citizens/families having jobs and maintaining the exceptional life-style that we built! Not to mention the fact that many cities/towns are losing their Judeo/Christian cultural heritage.

Yes, I'm a CULTURALIST! Compare and contrast the tribes of the Amazon; the tribes in the Middle East; the tribes in Central and South America; the tribes in Africa, et al, with what Western civilization has done for the advancement of mankind. Prove me wrong.
