Ryan’s ideology has been exposed as one purpose and one purpose only: “Re-election”.

He could care less about voters, citizens, the budget, atlas shrugged, or anything else.

His only job is to keep his job.

I would’ve advised Trump to tell them to bugger off, and that it’s time for those career sellouts to go away and never be heard from again.

The longer Trump waits to put an end to this crap, the weaker he looks. He should not appear to be a supplicant trying to curry favor with the GOPe.

-- I hope Donald Trump never ever trusts that he will be treated fairly by any of them, no matter what anyone says. --

He's there already. He has expressed his experience dealing with snakes and dishonorable people in the business world, and mentions that those people are amateurs (at duplicity and perfidy) compared with politicians. He knows he has to get "fairness" through force of ideas and force of voters will.

I’m thinking Trump’s not going negative and waiting for Ryan to be primaried.

No, the time to celebrate is when Ryan is primaried out of Congress. I DESPISE this weasel.

Both statements you say are true.

However, most ever does not win a general and Trump knows this. The meeting is the beginning of bringing in all the voters that refused to support Trump to the table and bring them in.
They both know 2 facts.

1) Failure to bring in those that did not win Trump will equate to Trump losing there is no debating this point
2) Failure to do 1 assures at least 2 liberal SCOTUS appointments and. Hillary win

I liked that this happened today.

If he does, it will be a phony, half-hearted endorsement. I prefer Ryan be eliminated from Congress.

Its the nature of all negotiations my friend, not simply politicians.

The reality is, Ryan is at his most valuable to Trump, at least until he wins the election, today. Once an endorsement is made, Ryan has little to bargain with until 2017.

Trump has basically executed a hostile takeover of the GOP, you can’t get upset if the old guard isn’t just going to roll over without trying to get some assurances and other things.... Who knows what they will actually get from Trump because honestly, he doesn’t need Ryan’s endorsement. It would make the path easier for him, but even without Ryan signing on Trump is going to finish his mission, and the old guard isn’t going to be able to stop him.

So we’ll see how this goes, but realistically this isn’t nearly the big deal the press wants to portray this as. Quit the 24/7 news cycle everdrama and relax.

Keep saying that, Trump knows he needs the voters that did not vote for him. Continuing to just say screw this guy and screw that assures Trump loses.

Both are helping each other

Trump should come out and expose Ryan’s TPP ties. Until people know why Ryan is bucking Trump, they’ll assign legitimacy to it.

-- The Romney, Kristol, Lindsey Graham, Clinton alliance lost. --

They just won't admit it, and they are continuing to explore ways to defeat Trump.

Mary Katherine Ham, for example, keeps slamming Trump as an unprincipled flip-flopper. I expect the level of that sort of rhetoric to increase.

advance a conservative agenda

Weasel words to satisfy the base.

What 'conservative agenda' has Ryan advanced? As Speaker, his budget bill gave Obama EVERYTHING Obama wanted.

The situation is this:

Ryan’s in a leadership position as Speaker. Part of being a leader is putting your own self-interest aside to carry out what’s expected of you. Which in Ryan’s case was to press for immediate unity—not sow immediate confusion and doubt with the weird mealy-mouthed hesitating excuses he made about “not being there yet.”

It was selfish and unbecoming of his position.

This isn’t about this guy got spanked and this guy won and this guy didn’t. This was about a common goal beating Hillary. Both have different ways of accomplishing that end. Trump knows he needs to bring more voters in to win. Ryan knows this too. Trump is best to leverage what remains to service that end. The attitude of many here assures a Trump loss in the general. He needs those votes period
