I gues they have all been bought.

The only way that ends is a combination of TERM LIMITS and all political donations being ANONYMOUS. Don't let 'em stay long enough to set up gravy trains, and they can't sell influence if they don't know who is buying. Our citizens should be allowed to fund any candidate or party in any amount they wish; that's FREEDOM. But tit for tat is bribery, and that's a crime. Lock 'em up, briber and bribee!

-- I thought Lee was one of the good ones who had a brain. --

I watched 90% of what the Senate did for a couple years. The only reliable "America first" ones were Sessions and, to a lesser extent, DeMint. All the rest are duplicitous, dishonorable and selfish pricks.

Best thing for Cruz to do right now to repair the damage he’s done (during his last couple weeks of campaign) is -

to come out publicly to endorse the Republican nominee, and to release his delegates to Trump, while encouraging others (especially the #NeverTrump crowd) to get behind The Donald.

Remind those who supported him why NeverHillary is so much more important than NeverTrump.

C’mon! Sen. Cruz, be a man and put our country first.

It is about immigration. Mormons seek immigrants, legal and illegal, to join the flock. Mormons are bad on immigration and that is why they hate Trump who will shut off the spigot.

“but I’m not there yet.”

has become an emerging meme for the rationally impaired.

he really must just endorse the more “true conservative,” mormon friendly K. Hitlery or C. Bernie ;=)

"I have some concerns with him. He scares me to death;"

Golly, Mike. Pray tell why? Help us feeble-minded, flyover country bumpkins understand your drama.

What's up with you, man? Is this some kind of Mormon meltdown thing or did you take a hit off of whatever Beck is passing around or what?

The Mormon church supports illegals, that is what is up in Utah.

This statement and this man, like so many others that I thought better of prior to the last 6 months or so, have proven to be very disappointing.

I don't understand - AT ALL - what is so incredibly "scary" about Trump when we know:

1) Trump will beef up our national defense considerably, whereas Hillary will (at best) leave it as is;

2) Trump will restore sanity to our immigration policy, whereas Hillary will continue with the open borders crap and legalize (i.e. provide a "path to citizenship") for millions of illegals - maybe 10% of whom will vote Republican in the future;

3) Trump will start cutting back on the federal budget, with an eye toward balancing it ASAP, whereas Hillary thinks that money grows on trees and will continue increasing spending until we collapse;

4) Trump will eliminate regulations that slow down or stop fracking and coal mining, with an eye toward making this country energy independent for the first time in at least 50 years, whereas Hillary will shut down our domestic production as fast as she can;

5) Trump can actually say the words, "Islamic terrorism" and "worldwide jihad" consecutively, whereas Hillary is in as much denial as Obama;

6) Trump has stated that he's for the 2nd Amendment being protected, whereas we KNOW FOR A FACT that Hillary will do her level best to outlaw guns;

7) Trump has said that he will appoint Scalia-like judges to the Supreme Court and the rest of the federal bench, whereas we KNOW FOR A FACT that Hillary will appoint radicals who will destroy the Constitution.

***What is TRULY scary is that Mike Lee apparently can't tell the difference between Trump and Hillary.***

... He’s hired Matt Rhoades and America Rising, perhaps the best opposition-research organization on the GOP side. Rhoades, of course, was Romney’s campaign manager in 2012. “We are excited to join Senator Lee’s team in his re-election effort,” Rhodes said in a statement to NRO. “The Senator is working to unite the Republican Party around common sense solutions and a positive agenda. &Utah needs Mike Lee in the United States Senate, and America Rising, LLC will help ensure his campaign has the tools they need to take on an opponent while the Senator focuses on taking his message directly to the people.”

If Cruz and Lee are great conservatives, what took Lee so long to endorse Cruz? Lee waited until open-borders Gang-of-Eight Rubio had dropped out before endorsing Cruz. Obviously Lee couldn’t figure out which of the two was more conservative, so he had to wait until it came down to a choice of one.

That episode reflects poorly on Cruz AND Lee.

Mormons tend to be over apologetic and always obsessing about not offending anyone. Trump is the opposite.

your hypothesis is immediately disproven by their acts of opposing Trump rather than the in your face Kenyan or the even more in your face Hillary. Sorry good buddy, your statement

Mike Lee and Romney oppose Trump for the same reason.

IS likely correct, but is isn't because of Trump's style. I suggest that's it's because they're afraid Trump will upset their vastly lucrative crony deals and actually move power away from the politicians back to the taxpayers whose stolen loot pays for all of the Washington insiders' perks and privileges

"I have some concerns with him. He scares me to death; so does Hillary Clinton. There is no easy choice right now."

That statement is 100% correct, and until the blindly ecstatic Trump supporters start recognizing the many problems associated with the (hopeful) victory in November, the dangers will continue to fester. The ONLY way to get a course-correction out of Trump is for his supporters to nudge him in the right directions.

A partial list, in case the Trump-devotees ever decide to wake up:
1. Stop making declarative judgments about people. Common minds focus on people. Decent minds focus on events. Great minds focus on IDEAS. We do not care who you deem "a good guy" etc.
1b. For the love of the Almighty, PLEASE stop commenting on the physical appearance of females, including and not limited to reporters, politicians, supporters, detractors, celebrities, models, and family members!!!! You've already overflowed your quota of such comments for your 8-year Administration.

2. Please remember, on your quest to prove that you are the greatest businessman ever, that the United States is not a corporation. There are many aspects of this nation that are not corporate, and should not be treated that way. Not every issue can be solved by sticking to your business ideals and themes. You cannot grunt, "You're fired!" to the Supreme Court. You most certainly should not be seeking to maximize revenues in the federal coffers.

3. Please stop making new names for opponents. Monikers like "Lyin Ted" and "Crooked Hillary" makes for nice NYC media headlines and name-calling, but for the other 98% of the nation, it's really beneath the dignity of the Office you're seeking.

4. It seems obvious that you've noticed the Battered Wife Syndrome that is affecting the Conservative Movement in this nation. We get folks elected, and they stab us in the back once in Office. You rode that wave to the head of the nomination pack, and now may ride it into the White House. Please be the first in a while to actually stick to the Conservative Principles that we espouse: government is the problem, not the solution... taxes should be lower... cut government red tape... give power back to the states... strong borders... strong military... strong economy... plentiful cheap energy... pride not apologies for being American. Please?

5. Please do not copy Obamas "Pen and a Phone" strategy, in your effort to "get things done quickly". Our youth need to see a great man eschew power, not grab it. We do not need them to grow up knowing 16 years of Presidents who do not honor Congress, the Constitutional principle of Separation of Powers, or the ideals of Limited Government. You may feel like a King, and Monarch Obama may have acted like one, but please don't encourage more for our future generations. It comes with massive inherent dangers.

I'm sure others here can add to this list.

I think that “I’m not there yet” means one of two things. Either:

1) I haven’t been bribed enough; or

2) Donald Trump hasn’t asked me to go fishing on an isolated lake with one of his henchmen - YET.

Mormon Church Support for Immigration Reform — Naive or Mean-Spirited?

Comments made by Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the LDS (Mormon) Church's First Presidency, coupled with earlier public statements issued by the church on the subject of immigration reform, raise questions about whether Mormon leaders are exceptionally naive or simply mean-spirited and cruel.

Following a meeting with President Obama, Uchtdorf told a Salt Lake Tribune reporter that "President Barack Obama's outline for immigration reform matches the values of the Mormon faith." Later, in an interview with the Deseret News, Uchtdorf said the shared values include compassion, family cohesion, respect for law, and common sense.

The problem arises when Uchtdorf and other Mormon leaders apply these values to immigration reform and focus totally on mercy for illegal aliens while ignoring all those who have been seriously harmed by illegal aliens.

The Migration Equation: Big Business+Big Agriculture+Big Labor+Big Religion=Big Immigration

The Catholic Church, the Church of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons), and the Southern Baptist Convention have all endorsed pro-amnesty proposals.

I remember well Willard’s jock-sniffing Mormon brigades on FR for years, and they were extraordinarily offensive, vicious and slanderous.
