Romney: Trump's refusal to release tax returns is 'disqualifying'
Washington Examiner ^ | 5/11/16 | GABBY MORRONGIELLO

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney blasted Donald Trump on Wednesday after his successor hinted that it is unlikely he will release his tax returns before the November election.

"It is disqualifying for a modern-day presidential nominee to refuse to release tax returns to the voters, especially one who has not been subject to public scrutiny in either military or public service," Romney wrote in Facebook post.

"There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Trump's refusal to release his returns," he wrote Wednesday. "There is a bombshell in them. Given Mr. Trump's equanimity with other flaws in his history, we can only assume it's a bombshell of unusual size."

I really despise this bastard. After all the crap he took off of Reid saying Romney hadn’t paid taxes in ten years he then plays into the rats’ hand about Trump’s taxes.

If this doesn’t prove the gop is the same as the democrat nothing does. And I no longer say gopE. It’s just the plain old gop.

Could someone tell ding bat that the primary is over. Donald Trump won. What a doofus Romney is. No wonder he lost 4 years ago. He’s a loser.

He knows that. The most recent past GOP nom prefers Hillary to the current GOP nom. Incredible, isn’t it?

If Romney does think that, he is certifiably mentally ill. Trump is the nominee and Romney couldn’t get 5% in a three way race, and most of that 5 would come from Hillary.

I think Donald Trump isn't a billionaire...and that's the catch.

Personally...I could care less.

Mitt Romney is a moron...in more ways than one.

I wish Romney would go back to whatever his day job is now and stay out of this year’s election. Cruz has gone back to the Senate where, hopefully, he can do some good for our country and the cause of conservatism. Kasich has gone back to Ohio where he seems to be doing a good job as governor.

Trump is our candidate. He needs to keep his promises, including the one to release his tax returns after the audit is complete. If he doesn’t want to do something, he shouldn’t repeatedly make a public promise to do so because it speaks to his credibility.

What’s to be found in tax returns? Big deal, all the candidates are wealthy. We all know that.

Yes, jealousy.

Romney’s wife is seeing how a real man operates and Mittens is pissed.

To her, a man who builds temples is superior to a man that is “temple worthy.” Mittens can’t compete.

Poor lost Mormon Mittens, so in need of relevance, so vacuous. Selling his soul to have one more minute of fame if he can gin it up.

Romney’s big nose is disqualifying. He needs to keep it out of others’ business.

That’s very generous of you. Romney is campaigning for the Butcher of Benghazi right now. He can die in a fire, for all I care.

Regardless of who said it, you know that the Dems will use Trump’s continuing refusal to release the returns as a cudgel to beat him over the head with relentlessly and the public will fall for it. If there’s bad news in the returns, better to get it out now while there’s time to recover. Opposition research will otherwise ferret it out and save it for the usual October surprise, when recovery time is short.

And, anyway, as he is under audit, seems reasonable to withhold them.

That excuse has never made any sense to me since Trump first uttered it. Because these are filed returns, anything he releases, the IRS already has. He wouldn't be releasing any information that the IRS doesn't already know (or could have easily obtained by simply getting a court order).

Trump said he has been audited for 12 years
That’s enough “ scrutiny”
No candidate should be subject to having their personal information rifled with no cause except class envy
Romney is a moron of the highest order
