"The Washington Post said that Mills and her lawyer, Beth Wilkinson, returned to the interview room after a brief absence"

Made it sound like she only had to go to the potty.

“Confer” is the excuse written in the article. I thought her lawyer was in the meeting with her already? The lawyer could have voiced objection, etc.

The “confer” wasn’t for her lawyer; it was to ‘confer’ with Hillary Clinton or her handler/lawyer.

Mills ultimately did not answer questions about it because her attorney and Justice Department prosecutors deemed it confidential under attorney-client privilege.

I read this yesterday, and I wondered why they would do that.

Mills is an employee of the US government. She's not Clinton's attorney.

If she is ALSO Clinton's attorney, that would seem to be a serious conflict of interest.

She is in it up to her hairline!

I’d bet that she winds up being “found somehwere secluded in a nasty patch of weeds like Vince Foster”, very soon.

They had to discuss what to say. Will Hillary bring her team of lawyers too?

Suggestion by Peter Schweizer on FOX is that investigators wanted to know the motivation for setting up private server. I have given my private clip to FBI, Justice, and Gowdy’s committee. I hope they confronted her with this:

Of course, she set up private server to avoid FOIA and be able to hide info and delete as necessary. She admitted on tape in my clip from 2000 that she was afraid of investigations.

Well this pretty much blows a huge hole in Hillary’s public line that she and her staff are cooperating fully in the...cough...cough...”security review” and have nothing to hide and want to get to the bottom of any possible security issues as much as the FBI. Lawyering up and stomping out of FBI interviews doesn’t sound much like full cooperation, not that anybody with more than two brain cells to rub together believed Hillary anyway.

When you get paid by the people of the United States then you are subject to their questions about your performance.

Period.

Even if you don’t work for them now.

And I include every elected politician and every judge and every political appointee in that.

Affirmative action in FBI interview...quota system...a cultural thing...racism...

I wonder if I, a middle class, middle age, married white male would get the same “consideration” during an FBI interview.

Doubt it.

Wasn’t Mills also involved in the removal of documents and things from Vince Foster’s office before law enforcement could examine evidence there? She sure knows the law that would protect her and her boss, but not the laws that apply to the rest of us.

This all sounds like pretty standard procedure for an FBI interview of a well heeled target with an attorney present. In fact it’s standard for the interrogator to advise the witness they are allowed to take a break to confer with their attorney any time they choose. And if I were her attorney I would have claimed AC privilege on those questions also.

They pulled this same trick on Ken Starr when Susie McDougall refused to testify and the media lionized her as some kind of hero rebelling against a vindictive prosecutor...

If the FBI was after me would they let me just get up and walk out during an interview? This is terrible and sucks t know we have a multi-tiered justice system depending on who you are.

I don't get this. She's not answering because she told her lawyer about it? That can't be legit though I wouldn't put it past a Clintonista to try. But is it that she was Clinton's attorney in addition to being a US government employee? Again, how can that be?

Most likely she is a lawyer and in her role as Clinton's aide at State Dept she observed things and she's saying since she's a lawyer, whatever she knows is privileged. Which is nonsense.
