Fault lines: GOP civil war deepens

Donald Trump is poised to breeze through another round of primary contests this week -- while the Republican Party splinters around him.

Trump's ascent to the top of the GOP, which was capped last week with Ted Cruz's devastating loss in the Indiana primary, happened so fast that even the billionaire himself was surprised. And the whipsawed party establishment now faces immediate choices -- none of which particularly appeal to them.

Will they unite behind their party's standard-bearer? Will they sit out the 2016 campaign? Or will they fight on, in a quixotic quest to undermine Trump?

Trump's opponents are still sorting through the wreckage of the GOP primary season for a path forward. But it has become painfully clear over the past five days that party unification will be tough to come by, if it happens at all. Past presidents, party leaders and prominent Republicans are all choosing sides, from unenthusiastic acceptance (Bob Dole) to pledges not to vote for either party in November (former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Lindsey Graham) to musings about a third-party bid (Bill Kristol).

People who voted for Trump in the GOP primary are responsible for a President Hillary Clinton.

Wrong.

When you have a GOP that has less of a spine against Obama, the Dems and their leftist agenda than Chamberlain had against Hitler (and THAT is saying something)...

When you have a GOP that cares more about the cheap labor lobby than the concerns it has generated among the constituents they supposedly represent...

When you have a GOP that appears to care less about the voters...

President Trump happens.

HOGWASH !

IN HOC SIGNO is what the Emperor Constantine claimed he say in the sky and supposedly immediately became a Christian and made everyone in his empire become one too, after he won that decisive battle.

It has less than NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the Knights Templar ( who came about CENTURIES later! )and less than NOTHING AT ALL to do with the American branch of FreeMasonary!

You're an uneducated boob; at the least and shouldn't talk about subjects you are abjectly lacking ANY knowledge of!

“somebody please remind me why Bob Dole’s endorsement matters?”

Bob Dole knows when Bob Dole’s endorsement matter for Bob Dole. And if it’s good enough for Bob Dole, Bob Dole is good with it.

Seriously, despite whatever other factors, I think well of Bob Dole for a couple of reasons. He was an authentic combat vet. He hates unnecessary Wars. He supported O’Donnell back in the day. For those reasons I will let the old war horse be.

“Trump is a non-violent revolution.”

And like 1905 Russia, perhaps the last effort.

“It’s all about the open borders/amnesty agenda.”

I think that is right, but you see it’s never stated plainly like that.

Whoa. Friendly fire. Glad the bullet I shot at you was a dud.

Your 1905 russia reference made it seem like you’re comparing the Trump Revolution to something more nefarious.

“Your 1905 russia reference made it seem like you’re comparing the Trump Revolution to something more nefarious.”

No problem. Only in the broad sense that the 1905 demonstration was peaceful, and pretty much the last chance and a healthy move to benefit the nation and preserve its institutions.

I am no proponent of Bolshevism. People forget that Czar Nicholas was not ousted by Bolsheviks, but by parliamentarians in the February revolution of 1917. THAT government was pushed aside by the Bosheviks in October.

Loose analogy. My apologies for the confusion. My point is, this might be the last opportunity to peacefully reject and set aside the globalist policies of the past quarter century.

We will back Trump together my friend!

>>Republicans need to face reality: do they want to be responsible for a President Hillary Clinton?

The Republican Patriots do NOT want to be responsible for a Pres. Clinton. That’s why they support DJT.

The Republican Elites DO want a Pres. Clinton. That’s why they are #NeverTrump.

There will be a major shifting, or alignment of party members when DJT becomes President. The GOPe Elites will shuffle over to their real home, the Dems.

At the same time, Dem Patriots who voted Trump will be warmly welcomed into the NEW GOP.

Thereafter, it should be clear that the Dems represent the Globalists, and the Pubs represent the Nationalists.
