How was bail set in such circumstances? That’s not on the Feds but the locals.

That’s the first problem in the case was that the local judge set bail to low. The second mistake that occurred was that the local ICE office was approached five time by Omaha Police and rebuffed each time, hence the focus.

There are some who think the police should be held accountable as if you’re an illegal immigrant, you’ve already broken a dozen laws and should have been arrested after the hearing.

Not surprised. Here in New Mexico if your bail is set at $50,000 the lawyers will plead something and you will be released on own good behavior or at most 5,000. The judicial system in this country, top to bottom, is vastly corrupt and ineffective. They are allowing the criminals to walk free everywhere.
