Scott Adams has some great analysis of Trump's messaging and persuasion blog.dilbert.com. A lot of what he tweets/says is probably not as crazy or undisciplined as people think. Trump's either a pro at persuasion and messaging or the luckiest guy in the world who's crazy tweets accidentally work over and over.
