How Ryan decided to ditch Trump (Ryan was counting on brokered convention)
Politico ^

Posted on 05/06/2016 7:12:46 AM PDT by quesney

Ryan never expected Trump to lock up the nomination so quickly. He didn't think Texas Sen. Ted Cruz would drop out of the race in May. In fact, Ryan's orbit was preparing for a contested convention in Cleveland, where he is slated to serve as chairman, effectively the emcee of the Trump coronation.

No kidding. Ryan has issues with manhood. Cruz and Fiorina were just plain weird together.

” Contrary to his BS, Ryan was counting on a contested convention.

Looks like there really might have been a plan to have him be nominated - the heck with what voters wanted. “

Exactly.

See: Who runs the GOP and owns Paul Ryan & Marco Rubio? Let’s name names!

There was never any possibility of a brokered convention.

Sorry, I miss-typed "excised."

But your metaphor is as applicable.

Right after Trump wins the general, it will be time to scuttle Ryan permanently, unless he leads in undoing Rat Socialist policy, firing Rat Socialist bureaucrats and impeaching Rat Socialist Justices.

“Shot fired over the bow at Papa Cruz...

“BOOM!

“Cruz jumped out of the race-rapido!”

Correlation does not mean causation. You’re acting as if this story is what got Cruz to drop out.

Cruz had just suffered a major loss in Indiana. He relies on big donors who may well have decided to cut their losses.

There are very real current factors that are far more important to his decision than some vague conspiracy tale about his father that sounds like something Lyndon LaRouche would have run with.

" He (Ryan’s opponent for the congress seat) is supposed to be coming up on Varney on Fox Business channel.

And I think he destroyed his candidacy in one single failed interview. He would not answer the simple question "Do you support Trump?" He waffled. He fluffed. HE FAILED. Bring on the next challenger.

Ryan was probably secretly hoping he could become the “white knight” and win the nomination after a few ballots at the convention. Alas, his hopes and dreams were dashed three days ago.

Hopefully Ryan the Rhino can be defeated in the primary. It’s time to flush the turd.

Ryan was surprised. The same people that back Cruz, back Ryan with his fundraising efforts. Cruz had already anticipated a major loss in Indiana. His super PACs appear to be still active and moving towards securing delegates. Especially the OPP super PAC, again closely tied to Ryan.

The money was never going dry up and was to continue. The plan was designed for Ted to win on a subsequent ballot. The RNC can change the rules for the 2016 convention. They’ve done that multiple times including in 2012 to support the desired result. Some are still trying every scheme known to man to halt Trump’s nomination.

Papa Cruz’s timeline IS the problem. There are glaring inconsistencies with his documentation. IMO, this was the cause of the Cruz suspension and not a coincidence along the campaign trail. The problem is not necessarily the Fair Play for Cuba handbills or Oswald’s negative association. The flashy story forces other information out and causes people to examine the facts. All of this discredits the original story and Papa’s timeline. This includes, most importantly, Ted’s Canadian birth in Calgary to Canadian parents. Both had become ex-pats, interviewed by two Canadian officials.

The final result is no claim to jus solis or jus sanguis. Game Over.

No....Ryan has ALWAYS been an open borders, cheap labor psychopath. He was working against protecting our borders as far back as the 90s.

Romney— the venom just drips right off his tongue. I have not seen such a sore loser since Al Gore. Romney’s insane jealousy will eat him up. He will die a bitter old man.

Do you think that he (Ryan) really would put the economic arguments that the open border business community advocate, ahead of the right of his fellow countrymen to determine who they allow into the United States? I mean, if he has to decide?

Benedict Arnold & V. Quisling were not patriots. Are you suggesting that Paul is really so stupid or corrupted as to believe that they were?

You are so right..those nasty elder Bushies have suffered a bitter defeat with the trouncing of their little baby boy Jebbie, and then with the utter defeat of his snarling lying surrogate Ted Cruz.

The Bush Dynasty is dead. Let us all drink to that and then piss on their graves!

All very sad. Bob Dole with his dog, marketing Viagra with double meaning wise-cracks, was relatively more dignified as an ex-Presidential candidate.

I don’t think, I know Paul is for amnesty. He’s for Syrians to be allowed in. Have you been reading this thread & all the info about Paul’s open borders pitch & his backing of these bad trade deals ? Are we talking about the same guy here ? The guy who worked with Luis Gutierrez....
