(AP) The Rolling Stones have asked presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to stop playing their songs at his campaign events.
In a statement Wednesday, the rock band said they have not given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.
A Trump campaign spokeswoman didnt immediately respond to a request for comment or say whether they had a license to play their songs.

Stones played a global warming concert for the Clinton Initiative. Scorcese made “Shine a Light” from it. Good, but for the Clintons early on. I think Mick got a lot of free chopper travel from Clinton for the World Cup a few years back, as well.
I’ve had my phone listen to the music played on Trump videos by Right Side Broadcasting on YouTube. It can’t identify any of it. I.e., it’s not commercially issued. I wouldn’t be able to identify anything by the Rolling Stones other than “I Can’t Get No...”
The Donald should respond by playing “Heartbreaker” at his rallies
Captive crowd.
I have read the whole article elsewhere. Trump pays a blanket licensing fee to the publishers and he is within his rights to use them.
Politics used to mean a brass band playing Sousa marches. Or “Happy Days Are Here Again.” (Always too fast.)
Rock. Feh.
True, but if the Rolling Uglies were with BMI, this would have already happened, as such, he is within his rights.
This was a stand alone concert event on July 4th, no car races.
Tix were almost all 3 digit prices.
The Rolling Stones have asked many citizens of the USA to stop playing their songs. I, for one, have already stopped.
Try: ‘Real American’ by Rick Derringer. Kick azz rocker perfect for Trumper’s entry and exits to his public appearances AND at the Convention!!!!
Thanks for your brilliant insight to this issue! I laid awake at night wondering when you would show up with your insightful and productive response...nevermind
I guess Elton and Billy Joel will be next? Those are used at his rallies. These people are pathetic.
Public Performance Licenses usually contain exceptions for conventions, expositions, and campaign events.
LOL
Yeah, I guess he can tell the Stones to go pound sand: http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/US-2016-Election-Trump/2016/02/06/id/713008/
He’s unlikely to use that, as it was Hulk Hogan’s parade to the ring tune for years.
