Oh no, I’ve been told on other threads that Trump can win without the base, and that they neither want nor need the support of me or any other conservative.

How many more Votes do they have than the rest of US! Almost $100M spent on 64K attack ads against Trump and how’d that work out for them? Today those of US who love this country can smile as I would have also had Cruz won the nomination.

I believe Trump is a very honest man and will do what he says. The only problem is will the people be willing to understand the time it will take for his agenda to work. It will not happen overnight. Bring jobs back from foreign lands will take years to accomplish. The wall will take at least a year or better to build.

But the momentum will be there and with intelligent administration it will be done. America will be restored and great again. Patience will be the word. Some of his programs will mean sacrifice and might hurt for a while but will be rewarded with a better America.

Trump for President.

Well I think he’s shown:
Love of Country
Love of Family
Love of our Military
Understanding that with no Borders no Country.
Understanding that Free Trade is not US getting screwed in Trade
Wanting to lower taxes for the middle class
Bringing back US companies to the US
It’s a damn good start!

The way I look at it is that the pathetic 7% scored by Kasich in Indiana last night are those who want open borders and business as usual. The remainder of us are the 93%.

Of course, some of us don’t care if the GOP is unified. I’d just as soon it due and make room for an American party, and, no, it’s not Trump’s job to woo Cruzers. They lost big. It’s their job to prove why they are important to beating Cankles, since they obviously couldn’t beat Trump.

And conservatives are only conservative until the money bags attack them in Washington DC. Goldman Sachs is one of many.

So sick of hearing Trump’s not a republican, too.

That’s one rumor that can be put to rest. The Daily Mail released Donald Trump’s official voting record showing that he was a registered Republican since at least 1980, throwing water on the theory that he was at one time a Democrat.

Keep laughing. On the conservative side you had Levin saying great things about Trump.

What did Levin call Trump?
-’Very impressive’
-’Very solid’
-’Very conservative’
-’To the right of the Republican establishment’
-’Strong supporter of the tea party’

On the GOPe side, you have video of Romney praising Trump.

Keep in mind, everything we know about Trump today, was known then.

You can’t get creamed in the election and call yourself the “base”.

“The ‘conservatives’ that were swept into a majority in both Houses in the last election have certainly been such a wonderful boon for conservatism.”

Agreed. They have not proved they can be trusted to stay true to their ideals. My main fear with Cruz getting the nomination is that he would have been forced to concede his principles to the GOPe in order to finance the general election. I don't think Trump is a true-blue conservative but I don't know who is these days or who can remain true-blue given the realities of winning elections. I do think Trump will try to honor his promises, if for no other reason than his own ego. I suspect if he wins, we will be disappointed in much of what he does and we will have to hold his feet to the fire to keep him on the straight and narrow. But it is clear that the liberals have accomplished a great deal towards their agenda even with less-than-stellar liberals in the White House. We conservatives need to consider incrementalism ourselves, even just someone who will slow the lemming rush to annihilation.

As a result of the GOP’s ignorance to its constituents, I have suffered financial losses. I will be pleased to know that as a result of my persistence that some of them will experience similar losses.

News Flash - many Conservatives already support Trump and have supported him for months!! Wake up and smell the support for Trump from millions who are just as intelligent or more so than the ones acting so pious.

Very good point that needs to be understood much better not just by the GOP but the MSM as well. The “America First” voters might be the new base for both parties; they just don’t know it yet.

I agree he doesn't have to "woo" them or otherwise kiss their asses, and in fact, he shouldn't. But, that said, he is responsbile for making his candidacy acceptable. If he loses, it's not "Cruz voters" fault.

“I think they’re going to “double down”.
It is not that they are going to “double down”, they are in the “ Bunker Mentality”. They are counting on “Steiner's assault” to bring everything under control. That is why George Will and many others are talking incoherent gibberish. The Barbarians are breaching the Belt Way.

And we have always known Romney is a guiding light to follow? I am not impressed with Levin either. I can decide on my own who is a conservative/moderate/liberal without his or anyone’s help.
