Given this statement, I think his articles or interviews should be banned here. He’s not a part of the solution, but he has apparently been part of the problem all along.

I agree. This should be considered his opus.

One of the reasons Nelson is considered a great admiral is because of his tactical plan @ Trafalgar. Rather than resort to the traditional parallel attack - akin to the false red/blue divide of the uni-party - he sailed right into the line, dividing the enemy forces.

For decades, the RNC/DNC has had this comfortable agreement to "contest" elections along prescribed lines, leaving each side with 45% or so of the electorate. 2016 was supposed to the same, but Trump pulled a Nelson: he's gone right up the middle, carving out massive parts of the remainder.

So now we have a minority in the RNC with no place to go - big, crony businesses in favor of open borders. After Trump grabs a big portion of the DNC middle, they too will be left with a fringe (ie the Bernie supporters).

So the challenge for any DC insiders is to somehow create a new party of these two disparate pieces, otherwise the (former) DNC/RNC will be left with 10-20% on either side, while the new GOP - re-fashioned as a nationalist/populist party by Trump - will command the middle 60%.

There are monuments & squares named after Nelson & Trafalgar, and it remains a key turning point in European/UK history. The rift Trump is creating is destroying decades of presumed national direction.

He makes his living pontificating about how the country's problems should be solved in a "conservative" way. If anybody started actually taking effective action, he would be irrelevant.
