Anti-Trump Republicans confront a dilemma: Are they ready to help elect Clinton?
MSN News ^ | May 04, 2016 | Sean Sullivan, Katie Zezima

Anti-Donald Trump Republicans are starting to consider whether their opposition to a Trump presidency is so strong that they would be prepared to fight him in the general election — even if that means helping put an avowed enemy, Hillary Clinton, in the Oval Office.

One strategy under discussion is to focus on helping down-ballot GOP candidates while sitting out the presidential race under the belief that Trump will lose to Clinton no matter what. A more drastic and difficult option: rallying support for a third-party candidate who could uphold traditional Republican positions but would almost certainly steal votes from Trump.

Exactly. The reason they are furious now is these pundits are basically out of a job, telling voters and the GOPe what to do. It’s a humiliating leadership failure. After insulating themselves in the cushy fake world of Washington, DC, padding their bank accounts and living the high life in the ivory towers of government think tanks, they disconnected from the actual damage that has been done to the economy by the Iraq War, by Obamacare, and they have no idea how the average American family is struggling not only with a culture war but an economic war.

Disagree. We all have a dog in this fight. Whether or not you like Trump, the alternative is a faster slide into anarchy.

I don’t think you get the opposition to Trump. It’s not because he is a New York liberal. I held my nose and voted for McCain and Romney, so it’s not just his liberal positions.
It’s because he is one of the most morally repugnant human beings I have ever seen. I couldn’t vote for him anymore than I could vote for Hillary.

Well Texas Gun Lover, I hope you aren’t too attached to your guns. Your candidate is on record as being for gun confiscation. She also wants to open the borders wide across your beloved state.

He will redefine disappointment. As a NY liberal at heart, he can’t avoid it. He’ll govern like her without actually being her. That’ll be good enough for some, here.

Yep. That way they keep their little think tank jobs, busily snarking away at the “culture wars” while America goes into the toilet.

A lot of the #nevertrumpers are neo-con artists, and their open borders toadies who migrated to the republican party from the democrat party like an invading virus. The most positive thing about the Trump candidacy is that he smoked them out like rats out of their holes, and hopefully, they’ll go back to the democrat party.

And when “your conservative” president hillary is putting socialist SCJ

on the court I hope you are still able to live with your choice. Just know

this, some here will never let you forget your choice.

Yeah, funny how that works...vote for the loser to support the party now don’t vote for the winner to support the party. Like I always say...”Losers lose (at whatever)...it’s what they do!”

Trump may be bad.
Hillary is much worse.
Pick one, lest thru inaction you give support to whom you think worse, by failing to help the better choice overcome.

A true Patriot will never vote for Hillary Clinton the Anti USA Candidate. Anyone calling themselves a Conservative who votes for her is a Liar.

Is Jim aware that we have a Hillary supporter here?

I'm sure he is, below-the-radar Hillary supporters on FR are like HIV-infected prostitutes, eventually the facial lesions give them away.

You are wrong. Trump has no “record” as a public servant. Hillary does. You cannot judge Trump on a “record” that doesn’t exist. What he has or hasn’t done as a private citizen is no way to judge him against a woman who has lived a public life for 25 years and whose evil positions and public deeds (many of which were done for her private enrichment) are well-known as NOT being conservative. What kind of a “TexasGunLover” must you be? Hmmmmmm

So, we know what hillary would do to the supreme court. We know what

she would do to our country. We know that she lies, and lies, and lies,

and tells us with a straight face that she doesn’t lie. She is a horrible

human being who if you get your way, will be in the oval office, with

Bubba as the firstlady.

But you find Trump repugnant...................

Just know how ridiculous this sounds. Hillary is repugnant X20!

She will destroy us, LITERALLY! And you will have a hand in support of

that. And a lot here will remind you forever. Congratulations.

Are you saying the Oracles of the internet might not know it all? I was sure they were in on all those things we commoners weren’t privy to.

Anyone voting for Hillary is no conservative. It is just not logical to say Trump is not conservative enough so I will vote for Hillary.

It seems some here have an aversion to logic.

This election is so important that this decision needs to be hung around the

nevertrumpers necks for a long long time. When this shrill beast appoints

camilla harris to the supreme court they need to be reminded that they

were ok with this.
